Dear Parents and Guardians,

The first trimester will be ending today, November 11th. Teachers will be busy working on

report cards to be sent home on Wednesday, November 30th after Thanksgiving break. We

hope that you will find the district report card very informative. It shows you how your

child is progressing towards standards in each subject area, as well as providing you with

behavioral information and comments.

In addition, the Specials areas (Art, Music and P.E.) will also be providing assessment

information on the report card. Please utilize all of this information as a tool to indicate areas

of success and areas that might need more attention as we continue to work together during

the school year.

This is the last newsletter that will be sent out in November. A reminder that Thanksgiving

week is as follows: Monday 11/21 is a full day of school. Tuesday 11/22 is an early

dismissal at 11:00a.m. (PM kindergarten students attend in the morning; no school for AM

kindergarten students). Wednesday 11/23, Thursday11/24 and Friday 11/25 there will be no

school. We wish you a safe and happy holiday from all of us here at Woodview School!

Sincerely,

TOYS FOR TOTS

2011 U.S. Marine Corps League Toys for Tots Program

Woodview School will once again be participating in the Toys for Tots program. The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

Please bring your new, unwrapped toys to the Woodview Media Center or office before December 16th. The Marine Corps Reserves will pick up donations on

Friday, December 16th.

Our 2011-2012 Market Day grocery

fundraising program is underway!

The Market Day grocery program is a monthly,

district-wide fundraiser from which you can order

quality grocery items.

Our school PTOs receive 20% profit based on our

total montly sales. This money is then used, by

the PTOs, to help fund requests for field trips,

assemblies, classroom wish lists, as well as a

variety of other PTO sponsored activities.

Thank you to all who ordered from Market Day in

the past.

If you have any questions, please feel free to visit

www.marketday.com or contact Stephanie at

[email protected]

Clip & save Tyson Project A+ labels.

Turn in the labels to school. Your

school redeems them for cash. Each

label is worth $.26.

Here is another way to earn money for

Woodview. Simply clip the Box Tops

from your favorite General Mills

products and send them to school with

your child!

Chef Tony says, “Fall

means busy schedules and

cooler weather. Market

Day has your solution when

you need a hot meal on the

table fast!

Did you know that Woodview

collects Campbell’s soup labels? The

labels are worth points and must have

the UPC code in order to be used. The

points can be redeemed for books, gym

equipment, and other items for our

school. Each teacher has a box in the

classroom to collect labels and box tops!
