New Products in Stock
New Products now in stock are:, Aslan Trends Litoral Sparkle, more of the very popular Noro King, which is being
discontinued, so we reordered some of what they have left in stock, Malabrigo Rasta, new stock of this amazingly
gorgeous yarn may be in next week.
Rasta, Noro King from Noro Love book, plus we will be getting new stock in Cashmerino Aran, (shown in Holli Yeo-
h’s latest published design in KnitSimple Mag 2012 winter, along with Noro Kureyon in center panel of garment),
which we also strongly suggest for that special baby blanket like Garter Blocks Baby Blanket from Churchmouse
patterns, for heirloom quality, softness, washability and great colour choices.
Don’t miss the new "furs", we will have some Lanas Stop Seal, Koala, and mink, don't you want this hat? or maybe
the stole? Berroco Quasar in pattern Seyfert. Noro Shiraito was highly coveted when the 1st Noro Mag came out,
but the small production went to the US, then demand made it available in Canada!
From Noro we are also expecting Ayatori again, plus new colours of Silk Garden Sock. We have endeavored to bring
in all colours of Noro yarns used in the mag, Knit Noro book and Knit Noro Accessories.
We have 3 colours of this lovely 4ply cotton/acrylic/poly coming, Queensland Uluru with 375m/50g, hopefully will take over
from Noro King as our favourite fine multicolour. If not for you, maybe 100% superwash wool striping Nova Painted De-
sert will be a winner, with 375m/50g, here are colours 6, 9 and 10.
We were disappointed when Diamond’s lovely merino/nylon multicolour sock yarns Footloose were no longer going to be
made, but they have come out with a winner from Mirasol, Hachito, a handpaint in lovely colours
Check out the new Sirdar booklet 440 coming, so cute baby knits!!
We will have all the new Berroco books, including Norah Gaughan 12 plus the new yarns Karma, 100% cotton knit-ting at 12 stitches to 4”, and Maya, a worsted weight cotton/alpaca blend with great yardage, along with a Karma knitted sample. Watch for a lovely simple long tank Vasya in Berroco book 330.
From Rowan, We have ordered new Kim Hargreaves books Enchanted, Quirky and Indigo, plus trying to get more Pre-
cious, Heartfelt and Thrown Together, along with the Rowan magazine 53. I have added to some favourite yarns from last
spring/summer, 3 new colours in Summerspun, the amazing wool/cotton blend in gorgeous colours, Fine Lace (alpaca) in
eight colours, and the lovely Panama in six colours.
We attended Skacel’s amazing 25th anniversary party in July 2012, and got advance knowledge of some of the upcoming
patterns of Westknits #5, a collaboration of the lovely Cirilia Rose (above with Mr. Schoppel of Zauberball fame) and Ste-
phen West. The fabulous sweater pattern Cirilia wears above is soon to be revealed in the published booklet, and is knit with
Schoppel’s Leinen Los and Zauberball Starke 6, a dk weight self striping sock yarn up the centre panel. Many new yarns
are offered from Skacel, including Schulana Balico, a cotton/viscose/linen/nylon open stranded concoction knit on 15MM
needles for quick summer shawls, and Schulana Silco, a cotton/silk ribbon.
From Hikoo, Skacel’s value priced line, we have Caribou, a nylon fur with very adorable pattern support for critter knitting
Caribou critters Churchmouse baby wrap sweater in lace merino & cobasi
Hikoo Cobasi, a new fave sock yarn around here, cotton/bamboo/silk/elastic nylon in solids for those folk who can’t wear or
knit with wool, perfect for summer socks (1 ball does short pair, see sample in the store) and sock weight summer garments
are perfect as well. Now coming in 100g skein undyed for you to dye yourself if you are inclined! I mixed it with ella rae lace
merino for this churchmouse pattern baby wrap sweater, the six month size fits my 6 year old granddaughter!! I am not kid-
ding! How many sweaters have you knit for a six month old baby that can be still worn 6 years later!!
How about a recycled T shirt fabric to knit with? Tee Cakes, which comes with a free basket pattern
some colours of this lovely yarn, see a basket sample in the store. Hikoo will have 2 new yarns coming very soon, watch for
Hikoo Kenzie and Tiara.
Schulana has made a furry wool blend, Ducan, which is dyed to match Kid Seta Nebia and Kid Setair, for mix/match ward-
robe. The colours are wonderfully subtle and dark. Check out the kid seta nebia pullover with matching ducan vest, or the
sleeveless nebia with setair trim, or how about a setair hat? The Setair is many strands of Kid Seta produced into a knitted
tube for a truly luxurious look and feel. Speaking of luxury feel, Royal Alpaca really takes the prize, especially mixed with
silk. I have always considered alpaca a rival for cashmere, and Schulana has produced an amazing yarn in Royalpaca, a
dreamy cloud of a ball, in many lovely colours. Touch and you can’t resist it’s appeal. Neck warmers and hats with one ball?
Don’t even try to resist. How about the hat on the right below? There are also 3 colours of Kid Seta Jubile, a subtle striper
added to the many solids.
From Zitron, my fave is Finest Royal Alpaca, a dk weight in the highest of quality alpaca, in amazing colours, so soft and
natural, I am making the Twinkle Collar, below, from Interweave Gifts 2012 with the Green Tea colour. Yumm! Traum
Seide arrived just now, and might be a rival for the fave of the season. 100% mulberry silk in it’s lus-
trous drapey glory, and 845 yards/100g, gorgeous solid colours. Wow!
Filigran Verlauf is new in 3 colours of this wonderful superwash merino, Nobel Art is a bulky super-
wash merino wool multicoloured kinky for textured cowls, if you like, and Zeitlos in solidsand multis,
superwash merino worsted weight very similar to the beloved Unisono.
