A WORD FROM THE PREZ
Our April Dance was held at
Adelio’s Restaurant Downtown.
Adelio’s provided a pasta salad
and a cheese and fruit appetizer
tray. Big thanks go to the ten
couples that donated money for
the additional appetizers. The
food was great and was a great
addition and enjoyed by
everyone.
Roy Childress did a great job
playing our favorite beach music
songs to dance and listen to. Our
50/50 was $ 51.00 and was won
by Linda Leggett who graciously
donated it back to the club.
Thank you, Linda!
Again, Margaret and Linda did a
fantastic job on the table
decorations. They also placed an
EASTER BUNNY with chocolate
eggs in a basket at the door for
members to enjoy.
Our May, 5th Re-up Dance
will be held at the Country Club
and the theme will be a “Luau” so
put on your GRASS SKIRT and
join us for some FUN. Members
make sure you fill out your
membership application and turn
in at the door. The door is free to
members who re-up and $10.00
for everyone else. Our club is
furnishing meat trays and the
members are encouraged to bring
side dishes or desserts. There
will also be door prize drawings
for those that buy 50/50 tickets.
Thanks to everyone who
brought Food items for our
Quarterly food drive for Robeson
County Church and Community
Center. There are many families
that are still living in motels after
Hurricane MATTHEW and need
our assistance.
Mark still needs members to
sign up for the door and accepting
Memberships at the May RE-UP
dance.
By the time the newsletter goes
out the SOS Spring Safari and
Parade will be history so I hope
everyone enjoyed the event.

THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS
Please remember the following people who need our prayerful support:
Also for the return to good health for Logan West, grandson of Pete & Gordon Hester, who was
injured by a bad bounce in a baseball game and is on the mend and right back at it. Steve Dawson;
Steve Floyd; Marilyn Pope; Hazel Jenkins, mother of Gwenn Price and Beverly Britt; Martha
Gibson, mother of Brenda Jackson; Sarah Farmer, sister of Marilyn Pope; Sarah Pope, mother
of Larry Pope; Judy Collins, Hospice Care. Also for former members, Ray Shaw, Hunter Green,
Bobby Bridgers and Eric Rowe. All are reported to be doing well.
We also offer our thoughts and prayers to many of our members and their families who were still
affected by Hurricane Matthew and the flooding that has taken such a toll on our community and
the sur-rounding area. May all of your needs be met and your recovery be achieved rapidly.

Our RCC & CC Food Drive
We received your donations of non-perishable food items at the April dance. Our next food drive
Will be at our August Dance. Let us share what we can to help folks throughout the area.
Thanks to all who bring donations of food to benefit the Church & Community Center Food Bank.
All donations are always greatly appreciated. Canned meat, soups, canned meals, fruit, rice, pasta,
any non-perishables and juices are always needed.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, our donations are even more critical to the food bank as
they struggle to meet the needs of those most drastically affected by the storm.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ From our own abundance may we always meet the needs of others. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
