Jingya Linyi is a spa and restaraunt complex in Linyi, China. The driving concept behind this design was the creation of a green facade in order to camou-fl age the building enclosure. Creeping plants will grow along an array of cable net fi ns which vary in their amplitude in reaction to interior lighting requirements. The architectural effect rendered is organic yet deliberate; a building systems response to programmed spaces.

For this project, I developed a parametric system

using the Rhino 3d plugin, Grashopper in order to quickly, effi ciently, and accurately design the com-plex geometry of the outer facade. Using a para-metric model allowed our team to quickly analyze various options and later facilitated in the transition from concept to DD, and shortly thereafter from DD to CD. The parametric model grew throughout this process to ultimately include structural member typologies and sizing.

The Work Station Pod is composed of a spherical co-rian shell, a work surface, and a cabinet. The Pod was built in order to showcase Corian as a product while simultaneously exploring some of it’s material proper-ties.

The main challenge was to rationalize the surface in a way that would produce maximum curvature - yet

require minimal number of molds for thermo-forming. The project was particularly interesting because it is a result of a fusion of many processes and components.

Traxon Technologies is an architectural LED lighting manufacturer who asked us to develop a backlit wall panel system to showcase in their show-room .

I created a parametric model that deploys a pattern logic onto a surface based on the surface’s curva-ture. This pattern was then back-gauged at different

At Evans and Paul I was the lead designer of the Herman Miller for Healthcare product line. Herman MIller is a pro-ducer of a standardized steel framing system. We were approached to develop a systematic way for outfi tting the prefabricated steel frame structure - with multiple skinning options(Corian, Wood, Laminate).

We were asked to design a site specifi c installation for the 2010 Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial. The project was based on a previous project by sgpa - greenpix. Greenpix is based in Beij ing and is the world’s largest zero-energy media facade.

The the installation showcases the design of a self-sustainable media facade. Solpix installation is based

in the conservatory of the Cooper Hewitt mu-seum, Cooper Hewitt Museum. The louvers sit to the exterior of the building enclosure, collect-ing energy via embedded photovoltaic cells used to power an array of LED’s. These LED’s project an interactive pattern onto the frosted glazing enclosure.
