Der MALLY Sound Selector wird mit einem 12 VDC/500 mA Steckernetzteil in
Betrieb genommen. Die Bereitschaft wird mit einem Piepston quittiert. Die
grüne LED leuchtet.
Das Netzteil liefert auch die 11 VDC über den Anschluss J1 an die zu prüfende
Platine. Die S&T benötigt jedoch zusätzlich eine negative 5 VDC Spannung.
Hierzu kann ein zweites Steckernetzteil mit ca. 5 VDC mit mindestens 50 mA
verwendet werden. Schließen Sie hierzu die -5VDC (GND) des Netzteils an TP4
an und +5 VDC an GND. Unlogisch? Nö, wir benötigen doch eine NEGATIVE
Versorgungsspannung!
Der Lautsprecher wird an J2 Pin1 und 2 angeschlossen.
Verbinden Sie nun noch mit einem Kroko-Kabel die Minuspole der
Elektrolytkondensatoren C14 und C15.
Wenn die Brücken N und DD auf der S&T gesetzt sind, kann die Lautstärke für
Töne und Sprache getrennt an den zwei Potis auf der Platine eingestellt
werden.
Das Testgerät startet unmittelbar nachdem das Netzteil eingesteckt wird. Die
S&T durchläuft Ihren Selbsttest und sollte 5 x blinken. S&T Platinen ohne AY-3-
8912 Sound Chip (alle 5 EE Brücken sind gesetzt und U12 fehlt) blinken nur 4 x.
Wir wollen nun einen bestimmten Sound abspielen. Als Beispiel wird eine S&T
mit "EIGHT BALL DELUXE" Roms angenommen. Der gewünschte Sound ist die
Sprachausgabe des Satzes "GET THE BANK SHOT" mit dem hexadezimalen
Code 4B.
Das höherwertige Nibble (MSN) ist hier 4. Also stellen wir diesen Code binär
am Tester ein. Die Schalter von links nach rechts !!! haben die Werte 8, 4, 2 und
1. Wir schalten also den 2. Schalter von links an (binär 0100 / dezimal 4). Die
entsprechende LED leuchtet. Durch Drücken der gelben Taste wird der Wert
des MSN gespeichert.
Nun stellen wir das niederwertige Nibble (LSN) ein. Hier ist der hexadezimale
Wert 0B (binär 1011 / dezimal 11). Wir schalten alle Schalter an.
Drücken Sie nun die gelbe Taste wird das Sprachsample abgespielt - voraus-
gesetzt Ihre Platine ist in Ordnung.
Der Vorgang in Kürze: Das erste 4 Bit Nibble einstellen und mit gelber Taste
speichern. Dann das zweite 4 Bit Nibble eingeben und Soundausgabe mit
erneutem Druck der gelben Taste starten.

Das Layout ist für die Montage auf Lochrasterplatine optimiert. Beachten Sie die
beiden benötigten Drahtbrücken (rot).
Der Spannungsregler VREG1 wird liegend auf der Lötseite der Platine montiert!
An den Anschluss PIEZO kann ein Piezo-Lautsprecher (z. B. Art.-Nr. 100040)
angeschlossen werden. Verbinden Sie hierzu PIEZO mit dem Pluspol des
Lautsprechers und GND mit dem Minuspol.
Die Platine passt in das Gehäuse (Art.-Nr. 100049). Wenn Sie die Bohrschablone 1:1
ausdrucken und passend ausschneiden, dann kann diese ins Gehäuse gelegt und
die Bohrungen gesetzt werden.
Verwenden Sie zur Stromversorgung ein geschlossenes Steckernetzteil (mit Hohlstecker), welches mind. 7,5 VDC bei 0,75A liefern kann. Als Anschluss J1 können Sie Art.-Nr. 102703 verwenden. S5 ist ein Taster (z.B. Art.-Nr.101270). Die anderen Bauteile entnehmen Sie dem Schaltplan. Alle Teile sind bei uns erhältlich. Die HEX-Datei für den ATmega8 kann auf https://coinop.mally.eu heruntergeladen werden. Falls kein Programmiergerät zur Hand, dann kann auch der Controller mit Programm (Art-Nr. 105155) bestellt werden. Konfektionieren Sie ein Kabel zum Anschluss an die Stiftleiste J1 der Soundplatine. Hierzu benötigen Sie ein Housing (104706), 15 Crimpkontakte (100572) und Litzenkabel (dm: 1,0 mm) nach Bedarf. Verbinden Sie Pin10 mit 12V, Pin14/15 mit GND, Pin1 mit A, Pin2 mit B, Pin3 mit C, Pin4 mit D und Pin8 mit INT. Ziehen Sie die Schaltpläne der S&T bzw. CHEAP SQUEAK zu Rate, um Fehler beim Verkabeln zu vermeiden. Bohrschablone
