New Interest Group and Projects• Data Stewardship Interest Group (Chaired by USGS)
– Enable the sharing of agency investigations, developments, and lessons-learned relating to EO data stewardship
– Draft common cross-agency best practices or guidelines of data stewardship for possible adoption by WGISS
• GEOSS Architecture for the use of Satellites for Disasters and Risk Assessment Project (Co-Chaired by NASA/ NSAU)– To address the use of satellites, sensors, models, and associated data products to support disaster
response and risk assessment. – To provide an enterprise perspective for managing distributed systems and web services for disaster
management. It is intended to provide a common vocabulary to describe the GEOSS building blocks and how they are composed.
• Water Portal Project (Chaired by JAXA)– To provide assistance to the water relevant scientists and general users in the development of data
services associated with data integration and distribution.

CWIC – Offers access to operational inventory systems at NOAA CLASS, NASA ECHO, USGS, INPE, and working on connection to
AOE (China – NSMC, Beijing-1)
– System of Systems proof of concept demonstrated • EuroGEOSS Broker (JRC) searching for INPE inventory data via CWIC• Demo of GENESI (ESA) searching for NASA inventory data via CWIC• Demo of CNES (JeoBrowser) searching for NASA inventory data via CWIC
– NASA CWIC Data Portal will provide satellite data discovery and access through the IDN and CWIC– HMA and CWIC is discussing on future interoperability– Future data partner includes CCRS; future portal partners include Geo Web portal, CCRS agency portal, AC
portal, LSI portal
IDN– All metadata records held in the CEOS IDN collection are available to the GCI
Atmospheric Composition Portal– the AC portal continues its operation at http://wdc.dlr.de/acp/
– ACP guidance for standards implementation

Cooperation with CEOS Working Groups
• Have been closely working with WGCV on the CEOS QA4EO Showcases in three areas
• WGISS agrees to support WGCBDD– “The WGCBDD will specifically work with WGISS to ensure
a seamless transition from the technical matters relating to data accessibility to the matters relating to systemic and individual capacity development” (WGSBDD ToR, Nov 2011)
