Jennifer Napier, President Berea Chamber of Commerce

Welcome to 2020 and a new vision for our future!

I want to thank Jeanette Rowlette for her year of service as Chamber President in 2019, and for the seamless transition of

leadership as the Berea Chamber and its members forge ahead with invigorating energy and motivating excitement.

January is the time for fresh starts, lofty goals, new year’s reso-

lutions, and hope. This month launches us into the start of a new decade, an exciting new era of technology, and witness to eco-

nomic expansions across the United States. We can only begin to imagine the limitless possibilities for business growth, diver-

sity, and products or services that have yet to be developed.

Our young adults are emerging into the workforce with their creativity and innovation and inte-grating with seasoned veterans to generate a future of changes we cannot yet comprehend. How exciting! We need to be prepared to grab the bull by the horns and attract new opportunities. It is our duty as progressive citizens and business leaders to encourage innovators, business entrepreneurs, and industries to want to make Berea and Madison County Kentucky the location for growing and/or expanding their businesses. Gone are the days when we hope good things will happen – we’ll be proactive in making them happen. What is a Chamber? What’s its purpose? A Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit member-ship-based organization that is a stand-alone business with its own business accountabilities, such as: accounts receivable, accounts payable, marketing, staffing, logistics, etc. A Chamber of Commerce is not a division of local government, nor is it controlled by an outside entity. Our Chamber members comprise our volunteer positions, fill our Committee Chair roles, and serve on our Board of Directors. Our goal is to make a positive impact on Berea’s economic develop-ment, while facilitating networking and education opportunities to grow Berea. Want to get involved? Ready to serve as a mover and shaker as we launch a new decade? Have a heart to serve? A willingness to motivate, volunteer, and/or lead? Then the Berea Chamber of Commerce is the right place for you to be in 2020! Join. Engage. Serve. Lead. Attract. Grow.

Inspire.
