Welcome to the Port of Cromarty Firth; one of the UK’s most
sheltered deepwater ports and a strategically important national
marine asset in the North Sea. The Port was established over 40
years ago and is home to the Invergordon Service Base. This 35-acre
facility has the capacity to handle the world’s largest offshore
drilling and accommodation units, production vessels, cargo and
cruise ships, renewable energy structures and decommissioning
projects.
As the Port Authority, we are extremely proud of the

Port of Cromarty Firth Services Ltd owns and operates 90 tonne
and 130 tonne Liebherr mobile cranes which provide efficient
lifting solutions to customers at the Invergordon Service Base.
The cranes are fully serviced, tested and certified by
Liebherr’s local representative. The cranes can be supplied on both
a CPA hire and CPA contract lift basis; all lifting solutions are
fully compliant with LOLER regulations.
The company can react immediately to the crane and lifting
requirements of vessels and oil rigs visiting the Firth and the
cranes are also available for use throughout the Highland
region.

HAULAGE AND TRANSPORT
McDonald Haulage is ideally situated to react quickly to a wide
range of transport requirements in the Cromarty firth and across
the north of Scotland.
Part of McDonald Scaffolding Services; we operate from Rosskeen
old manse, situated about 2 miles from the Port of Cromarty Firth
service base in Invergordon.
We use 7 rigid vehicles and 9 tractor units along with a mix of
flat, stepframe - lowloader and bulk tipping trailers to look after
the requirements of a wide range of customers. Due to the common
occurrence where transport can be required with little or short
notice we always have someone available to offer a 24 hours seven
days a week service. Offshore cargo containers and construction
materials are regular loads but we frequently transport all types
of plant and equipment and a wide range of bulk cargos all over the
UK.
McDonald Haulage is a member of the Road Haulage association, we
promote safety and compliance with the law at all times. Many of
our drivers are trained to carry hazardous goods along within the
conditions of ADR.

Strategically located in the North Sea and accessible 24/7/365,
the Port of Cromarty Firth, Invergordon has successfully developed
into one of Europe’s leading port facilities across the energy
sector.
From this facility we refurbish, repair and provide new build
services for semi-submersibles, jack ups, platforms and
modules.
The Port offers deep water within the sheltered confines of the
Cromarty Firth. This makes our location a prudent choice for
engineering work including fabrication, repair, maintenance, and
decommissioning. It is also a dependable, safe option for stacking
vessels between projects or prior to commissioning. For larger
operations, such as rig, subsea modules or renewable energy
projects, the port can manage heavy lift offloading safely within
the Firth.
The purpose built, integrated deepwater Port facility in
Invergordon, Scotland has a dedicated 45 acres of laydown, over
800m quayside and can directly supply services for your
projects.
