Our workplace is churning out burnt-out employees, who report little bandwidth for big picture thinking, innovation, and good understanding among each other. According to the Gallup survey in 2013, 70% of employees are disengaged, leading to lower level of productivity, innovation, and wellbeing, while only 8% of the respondents strongly agree that they experience overall wellbeing at work. This has led to a vicious cycle of stress and suboptimal performance. The ability to manage our minds, our emotions, and others is essential Emotional Intelligence (EQ) skills which have been greatly undermined and rarely developed among workers. We believe developing EQ competencies is an effective way and a possible solution for handling these challenges. The Case of Mindfulness Mindfulness means paying attention to what’s happening in the present moment in the mind, body and external environment, with an attitude of curiosity and kindness. An ancient wisdom practice supported by modern neuroscience, Mindfulness has been considered as a new ‘Superpower’ to equip everyone to adapt to high degree of complexity in today work- place. Elite business schools such as Harvard, Stanford, and MIT have turned to Mindfulness to achieve excellence for developing the next generation of leaders. Industry giants including Google, SAP and Intel are among the many companies that offer structured programs of Mindfulness to promote work performance and wellbeing. Mindfulness Training for Leadership and Performance

Overview:We believe every employee has the capacity to develop emotional intelligence, resilience, and wellbeing using Mindfulness. Mindfulness is a skill and like all skills, is trainable. The program utilize a scientific and practical approach to develop useful mental habits for achieving profound and long lasting wellbeing for peak performance.

Program Design:The highly interactive workshop includes the following core components: • Mindfulness as the foundation of Emotional Intelligence • Emotional Awareness • Emotional Regulation • Neuroscience • How practising mindfulness in the workplace can boost productivity • Develop useful mental habits and communication skills • Simple and practical Mindfulness techniques that accelerate emotional intelligence, mental focus and wellbeing

WORKSHOP 1 | LEADERSHIP AND WELLBEING

Dr. Yeoh Kar Kheng is a SIY Certified Teacher trained by Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute, USA. Search Inside Yourself (SIY) is a scientific based mind-fulness and emotional intelligence curriculum that was developed and tested at Google. To date, he has conducted over a hundred of mindfulness workshops to various audiences ranging from global technology companies to investment firms, hospitals, and humani-tarian organizations. In Malaysia, he is one of the pioneers in introducing mindfulness training to corporate organizations (INTEL, DELL, JABIL, INFINEON, ViTrox etc). He is the founding chairman of Malaysia Mindful-ness Association and has frequently been featured in local mass media. He obtained a doctorate degree in Organic Chemistry from Oxford University and is currently a senior lecturer in Universiti Sains Malaysia.
