This center is being developed as a model training hub for all the members of the burn team and will cater to the needs of the Low and middle income countries. In future, interburns would like to duplicate these efforts in other developing countries.

Recent Activities

We have recently started a skin bank with support from Dutch Burn Foundation which is a great help in salvaging the life of a major burn victim.

The skin bank is extremely indebted to the support of the social groups committed to raise awareness on organ donation. Muskan group and MK international eye bank need special mention here for their contribution and continued support. We have recently started a skin bank with support from Dutch Burn Foundation and Interburns.' Interburns funded the flights of the personnel who visited the Dutch Burn Foundation to develop the skin bank, at the request of Dr Shobha Chamania.

Fellowship Programs

This center has started a fellowship program from January 2011. The fellowship will be for one year which will give a good experience on managing all aspects of burns along with hands on training. The candidate will learn additional stuff on team management, designing a unit, infection control, community outreach and education on safety and first aid. He/she will be responsible for doing a research project and submitting the report at the end. Fellowship is also offered to the medical students wanting to do their electives in burns. About Indore

Indore is the most populous and the largest city in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It serves as the headquarters of both Indore District and Indore Division. Indore was described by the Economic Times as the commercial capital of the state. It is also considered as an education hub of the state and first city to have houses campuses of both the Indian Institute of Technology and the Indian Institute of Management. Located on the southern edge of Malwa Plateau, at an average altitude of 560 meters above sea level it has the highest elevation among major cities of Madhya Pradesh, the city is 190 km west of the state capital of Bhopal. With a census-estimated 2011 population of 1,994,397 (municipal corporation) and 2,170,295 (urban agglomeration), the Indore Metropolitan Area's population is the state's largest. The city is distributed over a land area of just 530 square kilometers making Indore the most densely populated major city in the central province. It comes under Tier 2 cities in India. Indore traces its roots to its 16th century founding as a trading hub between the Deccan and Delhi. The city and its surroundings came under Hindu Maratha Empire on 18 May 1724 after Maratha Peshwa Baji Rao I assumed the full control of Malwa. During the days of the British Raj, Indore State was a 19 Gun Salute (21 locally) princely state (a rare high rank) ruled by the Maratha Holkar dynasty, until they acceded to the Union of India. Indore served as the capital of the Madhya Bharat from 1950 until 1956.

Indore's financial district, based in central Indore, functions as the financial capital of the Madhya Pradesh and is home to the Madhya Pradesh Stock Exchange, India's third oldest stock exchange. Indore has been selected as one of the 100 Indian cities to be developed as a smart city under Smart Cities Mission, it is an urban development vision to integrate multiple information and communication technology. It has also qualified the first round of Smart Cities Mission and has been selected as one of the first

twenty cities to be developed as Smart Cities. Indore has been elected as the cleanest city of India as per the Swachh Survekshan 2017.

A trading hub between the Deccan and Delhi in the 16th century, the city of Indore was discovered by Rao Nandlal Chaudhary in mid-1710. Rani Ahilya Bai Holkar, with her keen interest in education and planning, built this city. Today, Indore, the state’s largest city, offers a spectacle of majestic palaces co-existing with commercial centres. Apart from being considered as the state's commercial capital, it is also known for mouth-watering culinary experience. It is in the first 20 cities to be developed as smart cities. Indore, with its abundance, will make you ask for more, like you did as a child for your favourite dish.

Indore has a bunch of amazing places worth checking out on your trip. The Shri Omkareshwar jyotirlinga is extremely popular with Hindu devotees. The Khajrana Ganesh temple, built by Rani Ahilyabai Holkar, is also a popular landmark in Indore and a famous tourist attraction. The Patalpani waterfalls make for a great picnic spot while the Sarafa Bazaar is heaven for foodies. The historic Lal Bagh palace is a brilliant piece of architecture and worth taking a tour of. Patalpani is known for the beautiful Patalpani waterfall with a height of approximately 300 feet situated

on the Indore - Khandwa train route. Kamla Nehru Park is one of the oldest parks in the city of Indore. It is easily accessible from Bhawarkua and Palasia via Agra Bombay National Highway. The Lal Bagh Palace is one of the most iconic buildings of the Holkar era. It was built by Maharaja Shivaji Rao Holkar between 1886 and 1921. Indore's famous Sarafa Bazar is known for its amazing street food and great options it offers for shopping. One of the most historical buildings in Madhya Pradesh, Rajwada Palace dates back to the eighteenth century.
