1. Ruler of Russia in 1913 and part of the Romanov Dynasty

2. Radicals who wanted to overthrow the Czar. They tried to ignite a revolution among the proletariat, who were the growing class of factory and railroad workers as well as miners

3. Sparked nationalism pride however the war strained resources. 2 million soldiers died in 1915 due to lack of supplies.

7. His brother was hanged for attempt to kill Tsar and his family was blacklisted.

8. Not a large urban working class in Russia. Lenin established “dictatorship of the proletaritat” and called them the Bolsheviks. They were the elite to guide the masses.

9. Lenin is in exile but Germany helps him return hoping it will weaken Russia with the war.
