MOST AdvANCEd TECHNOLOGyEnkei developed a new manufacturing process to

produce the next generation of aluminum wheels. Most Advanced Technology (MAT) combines one-piece cast wheel technology with a rim-forming “spinning” technique. Use of this new technology of casting and rim forming, the MAT process, is critical to drastically improve the material properties and strength of wheels. In addition, Enkei’s rim-rolled technology shapes the rim to improve material elongation without sacrificing the wheel’s hardness.

The RSM9 is a sports wheel infused with Enkei’s racing technology. Its sporty nine spoke design incorporates an ideal depth-to-height ratio for a striking look and features deep “side cut” to shave off extra weight to achieve the ultimate in performance. Enkei’s original MAT-Dura flow forming process gives the RSM9 unrivaled strength and rigidity. The face of the RSM9 is painted using Enkei’s exclusive piano black finish, which contrasts perfectly against its machined lip. Anti-slip paint on the inside of the wheel reduces the tendency toward tire distortion during extreme acceleration.

This wheel also has a large brake caliper clearance to meet car enthusiasts’ needs. ROULETTE PATTERNOur unique roulette pattern is grooved on the rim to reduce the slippage ratio between tire and rim. The roulette-pattern maintains the best condi-tion of the wheel and tire assembly, thus achieving the highest perfor-mance during extreme acceleration and deceleration. The roulette pattern is also used for McLaren Mercedes Formula One racing wheels.

Most Advanced Technology (MAT) combines one-piece cast wheel technology with a rim-forming “spinning” technique. Use of this new technology of casting and rim forming, the MAT process, is critical to drastically improve the mate-rial properties and strength of wheels. In addition, Enkei’s rim-rolled technology shapes the rim to improve material elongation without sacrificing the wheel’s hardness.

MAt MICRO StRUCtUREThe MAT process has a drastic impact on the micro-scopic structure of aluminum, resulting in outstanding improvement of the mechanical properties of the mate-rial. The process of spinning the rim allows metal flow in the rim, resembling the properties obtained from a forging process. The control of the metal flow in the rim results in a finer molecular structure without sacrificing the strength and rigidity of the wheels.

All Enkei wheels are engineered to pass rigorous testing. In fact, Enkei established its own test standard called “Spec-E,” which is tougher than JWL requirements. Enkei’s Spec-E test setting requires a higher drop point in the impact test and 20% more cycles for the rotary bending fatigue and dynamic radial fatigue tests than JWL stan-dards. The Spec-E standard shows Enkei’s confidence in its technology and the quality of Enkei wheels.

Ryan Tuerck is 27 years old hailing from Derry, NH. He has been

touted as the best up-and-coming young drifter in the sport. He

solidified himself as a top competitor winning some of the most

prestigious events on the Formula Drift circuit. 1st place finishes

at The Streets of Long Beach and on the high banks of Irwindale

Speedway along with multiple podiums throughout his career has

placed Ryan among the marquee drivers in Drifting. Tuerck honed

his skills in the Drift Mania Canadian Championship before making

the leap to Formula Drift winning back to back championships in

2005 and 2006.

Ryan currently drives the Mobil1, Red Bull, Chevrolet Camaro for

Gardella Racing. It took Ryan a few events to get used to the new

Mobil 1 Camaro. “ The Camaro gets better and better every time I

drive it. Gardella racing knows how to build a great car with some

great supporters and it just takes time to develop,” says Tuerck. Us-

ing the Enkei RPF1’s gives us confidence on the track knowing that

we have the lightest most durable wheel amongst our competitors.

Since his teenage years, Stephan has been involved in the rac-ing world. At the young age of 17 in his birth country of France, he competed in a go-kart championship finishing 8th in the nation. In 1993 stephan came out on top after competing against 1200 ap-plicants in the Brigdeston Driver search, then went on to compete in various formula races, winning nothing less than 5th place.Rally came next, beginning at CRS championships in 2001. Driving a 1988 323 GTX, stephan ended up placing 2nd in the PGT class. A few years later in a 2002 Subaru WRX, he began to compete in the SCCA Werstern State Rally Championship’s PGT class. After numerous podium finishes and being the first PGT team to ever win an event overall, Verdier and his team took home the championship win. The following year, he was again the domineer in his class with 4 wins. In 2005, stephan ran Pikes Peak Hill Climb in the Autosport Engineering’s 2005 WRX STI, winning the open class, overall in the rally competition and the hill climb.

Starting in 2006, Stephan jumped into drifting with a brand new Nissan s14, he battle amongst many drivers and performed great for his first year. In 2008, Verdier finished 13th in the formula Drift championship and 13th at the Red Bull World Championship.In the 2009 season, Stephan his in the top 16 drifters in USA and won his first event overall at round 6 Sonoma.

He bought his first rally car in 2002. Has won the rally class twice at the famed Pikes Peak International Hillclimb (2003, 2004). A former pro drifter, Verdier left drifting at the start of 2011 to focus on the Global RallyCross Championship, where he has been competitive. Stephan has also competed in two consecutive X-Games includ-ing this past year in the “Kick Buttowski STI” (2006 Subaru STI). Stephan uses the Enkei NT03+M on his Subaru STI.
