ABOUT WORLD OCEAN SUMMIT 2019
As the centrepiece of The Economist Group’s World Ocean Initiative, the World Ocean Summit will look at the threats to the ocean that come from the land. Its broad aim is to build bridges between governments and businesses, and to catalyse meaningful progress towards a sustainable blue economy.
The most diverse and important global gathering on the ocean, this annual event will bring the conversation to the Middle East in 2019. It will gather 600 global thought leaders to build stronger connections between regions, and to enable a more diverse and representative discussion on the future of the ocean than ever before.
Hear editors from The Economist ask the important questions as leaders from the ocean community—from Fortune 500 companies, policy, academia and NGOs—share their insights on how to develop an inclusive and sustainable ocean economy, before it is too late.
If not now, then when?
