THINGS TO INSPIRE YOUR PRINTING
Think about the under the sea
and oceans films.
❖Finding Nemo
❖The Little Mermaid
❖Moana
❖Finding Dory
❖A Shark’s Tale
❖Free Willy
❖Dolphin Tale
Could you create a
character or a setting
using printing techniques?
Try making
your piece
mixed media!
FINDING NEMO / DORYPrint with old
sponges, toothbrushes and rags in a
rainbow of colours to create
a bright coral reef.
Print on to cardboard and old toilet rolls
then stick them down to create
your own 3D coral reef.
Use your body parts to print different fish.
MOANA
Print with a cotton bud to create patterns.
Create a wave with strips of a magazine in various colour
shades. Add printing on top for the splashes!
Layer up your
techniques for extra
effect.
Experiment!
THE LITTLE MERMAID
Print with a cotton bud to create patterns
on top of the seaweed strips.
On your walk to the
beach, collect some
seaweed and have a go
at printing with it.
Paint over the top of
the seaweed like a
stencil or dip the
seaweed in paint and
then print on to paper.
A SHARK’S TALE
Print a shape on to
some paper and
then once it’s dry,
make marking in a
black pen to add
detail.
Choose an object related to an ocean or a character from the
sea-themed film. Draw it then add a few random straight lines
over the top. Print different colours and materials in each
section.
Why not try and make it all about protecting our oceans?
Choose a plastic bottle and raise awareness of ocean pollution.
HAVE FUN AND PLEASE SHARE YOUR PICTURES!!
