On Sunday, June 9, the church conference voted to move forward with releasing the remaining Bodybuilding funds, forming a building committee and forming a campaign committee. The items listed below are some of the next steps and events that you can expect in the upcoming months.

relationships by identifying community leaders, developing community partners and organizational infrastructure

• Create a Building Committee to work with architects, staff, ministry leaders and church council to create more detailed drawings and timelines for campus projects

stepHen Ministry: Today there is Commissioning and Consecration of our new Stephen Ministers at the 9:30 a.m. services. These 11 Stephen Ministers have just completed 52 weeks of training. Did you know that St. Luke’s has 32 Stephen Ministers and 6 Stephen Leaders? The Stephen Ministers’ one-on-one time with their “Care Receivers” totaled 214 hours for the last three months. If you are going through a life crisis and need a listening ear, or if you know of someone that could benefit from a Stephen Minister, please contact Carol Crowley at [email protected].

BaptisM Class: Sunday, July 14 at 4:30 p.m. in the Special Events Dining Room. No childcare is available.

BoWling ClUster groUp: The Bowling cluster Group will meet at the World Bowling Center at 6540 Canada Ave. on Monday, July 8 at 7:00 p.m. Join us for fun time!

oHana: This is a ministry opportunity on Sunday nights for middle school and high school students and their families. Participate in board games, video games and sports while listening to worship music from the student band. Have fun with your children Sundays in the Attic from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

naMi sUpport groUps: The support group for those with mental illness meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in Building B Room 201. Contact Tracy Lutz at 407.253.1900. CoUnseling availaBle: The Community Counseling Center at St. Luke’s offers counseling services in many areas including couples counseling, stress management, clinical hypnosis, addictions, depression, anger, domestic violence, eating disorders, grief bereavement. The center also offers very low cost services for those who have financial need. Please call 407.876.4991 ext. *250 for an appointment.

registration For st. lUKe's soCCer is noW open: Visit www.st.lukes.org/sports. St. Luke's Soccer is open to boys and girls of all skill level entering VPK - 7th grade. St. Luke's Sports promotes fun and fellowship. The eight-week season runs September 9 and ends November 2. Evaluations are Saturday, August 24. Register today and join the St. Luke's Spirit of Sports.

Summit presenter Mark Burnett is a four-time Emmy Award Winner and Executive Producer for Survivor, The Voice and The Bible. He was named one of The World's Most Influential People by Time Magazine. He produced a docudrama series on The Bible which was released in the spring of 2013. Mark has been inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame and has a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.

Change the World Camp July 15 to 19 for Grades 1-8 (as of fall 2013). Campers will participate in hands-on service projects so that they will understand how to be a world changer for God.

spark the imagination Camp July 22 to 26 for Grades K-6 (as of fall 2013). Campers can choose from a variety of half-day options in music, art, cooking and performance.

take the stage Camp July 29 to Aug 2 for Grades 1-8 (as of fall 2013). Campers will enjoy acting, singing and dancing on stage while creating a musical theater production with a great message.

neXgen WeeKly prograMMing: High School students, grades 9-12, meet Wednesdays in the Attic (Building C) from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Middle school students, grades 6-8, participate in FUEL Thursdays in the Attic from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Come enjoy fellowship, games, and worship. sUnday sCHool For all ages / BaCK to BasiCs: Sundays TODAY through August 18.

•Infants through pre-school age children will continue to meet as usual downstairs in Building B.

•Children can participate in “Back To Basics – Be Prepared,” our summer programming for incoming Kindergarten through 4th grade students at 9:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Fun and faith collide when children encounter God’s Word, learn Bible Basics, and make friends. Contact Janet Chambers at [email protected] to sign up to serve a Sunday during the summer; learn and have fun together with your child.

•Merge, our program for incoming 5th through 8th graders, will continue Sundays at 9:30 a.m. in the Attic. High school students can assist with the Elementary program in the Fellowship Hall – please call the Grow office at 407.876.4991 ext. *258 to sign up.

•Young Adults drop in for Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. in the workroom of Building C (1st floor). This group is studying Adam Hamilton’s “Christianity and World Religions.”

•There are several classes offered for adults all summer; check out the classes listed each week in the Worship Guide or visit www.st.lukes.org/grow to view a complete list of classes.

e100: The American Bible Society has selected the 100 most essential passages in the Bible. Join Joline Krolicki and Judy Arndt at 9:30 a.m. in Building B Room 205 as we zip through all 66 books on Sunday mornings.

tHe Me i Want to Be: Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. join an engaging study of John Ortberg’s book, “The Me I Want To Be: Becoming God’s Best Version of You.” Classes meet in Building C Room 204.

QUest For Happiness: Join Pastor David and his wife Marca and have fun while searching for emotional and spiritual insights in daily life. This class, based on the book “Second that Emotion, Untangle your Zany Feelings” by Patsy Clairmont, meets Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. in Building C Room 205.

traCe tHe JoUrneys oF paUl in greeCe in 2014: Pastor Bill is returning to Greece for 8 days starting April 26, 2014 followed by an optional three-day Greek island cruise including Mykonos, Ephesus, Patmos and Santorini. Informational brochures have been placed in the information racks around campus.

lead WHere yoU are: Encourage your organization to participate in the Global Leadership Summit August 8 and 9 at St. Luke’s. Florida City laBor day WeeKend intergenerational Mission: Join us August 30 - September 2. Help kids with homework, do service projects, participate in worship, and serve at the Branches Florida City Community Center. Cost is $75/person or $200/family ($60 if you drive separately). Get information in the Welcome Hall Sunday, July 7 then attend the information meeting at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 14 in Building C Room 200-202. teaM JaMaiCa 2014 Meeting: The Jamaica Medical Mission Team is holding an information meeting on Sunday, July 21 in Building C Room 204-206 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The team is returning to Ocho Rios, Jamaica February 1 through 8 on their 10th annual mission trip. We are particularly looking for oral surgeons and pharmacists. You don’t have to travel to Jamaica to be a part of the team. st. lUKe’s invited to iFtar JUly 22: Our friends at the Jama Masjid have once again invited St. Luke’s to join in the spiritual discipline of fasting during Ramadan and breaking the fast on Monday, July 22 after sundown. To prepare for this experience you are invited to attend “Iftar 101” on Sunday, July 21 at 2:00 p.m. in the Attic. The Jama Masjid is located at 11543 Ruby Lake Rd. (less than 10 minutes from St. Luke’s). This is an amazing offer of hospitality and a wonderful way to better understand the Muslim faith.

BaCKpaCKs: In the past donors purchased backpacks and supplies at retail prices and filled their own backpack to donate. This year St. Luke’s will purchase pre-filled backpacks at wholesale prices enabling your dollars to go farther! Backpacks will be sold in pairs. Donate both or donate one and keep one for your own student. Pre-paid orders will be taken between services on Sunday July 7, 14 and 21 in the Welcome Hall of Building C. Volunteer to host the table. Cost oF poverty eXperienCe (C.o.p.e.): This two-hour simulation helps you experience what it means to live a month in the shoes of families between 100%-200% of the poverty level. This activity is for those who want to do more than talk about poverty. Appropriate for middle school age or older. Participate Tuesday, July 9 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. or Sunday, August 11 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Contact Meghan Killingsworth at [email protected] to sign up. Blood drive today: Did you know one unit of blood can save three lives? The Big Red Bus is on campus TODAY. Donate blood before or after each worship service.

Within our Church

JoB openings: St. Luke’s Child Development Center is looking for two Lead Caregivers for our “Parents Day Out” Program. This program is designed for toddlers social and educational development and incorporates potty training and requires lifting and bending. The program follows the Orange County School Schedule with work hours from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Preference will be given to candidates with CDA certifications or those who are close to completion. in-HoMe-Care Ministry: The In-Home-Care Ministry provides food for people who are in a crisis situation and don't have a family member available to assist. Meals are prepared and delivered to the home of the church member. Contact the Care office at 407.876.4991 ext. *262 or [email protected].
