There is a football program that runs what they call a “4th Quarter Program”. The aim of the program is to get the athletes ready for the upcoming season when they are not playing. They need to be ready for the 4th quarter when the season kicks off. Christians should develop a “Spiritual 4th Quarter Program” to make sure we are always ready for the 4th quarter of life! Over the next several weeks we will look at different aspects of what a spiritual 4th quarter program looks like, adapting the tenets from the football program. Today, we look at the first facet of the program, discipline! If we want to be successful at anything in life we have to have discipline. We have to be able to follow what we believe in meticulously, we have to stick to it even when times are tough and we have to grow in it even when it seems we can’t go any further…discipline! The Bible says in 2 Timothy 2:15 to Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. We also see discipline in Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven." We can see that discipline is needed and allud-ed to, to be a spiritual success, all over the Bible. Are you disciplined in your faith? Next week we will look at our 2nd part, commitment.

We look forward to seeing you Sunday!

In Him, Todd
