FALL KICKOFF
With the fall season upon us it’s time to restart some ministries that were
off for the summer. We are up and running and are looking forward to
an exciting fall. Our prayer is that the Lord will use the Bible Studies,
youth outings, and special events to bring us together as a church family
and unite us with the goal of reaching our unchurched friends and neigh-
bors.
Fellowship—You will notice in the event section of this newsletter that
we are hosting a Senior Luncheon down at the lake on September 14
(11:00 am) and then an all church fall dinner is being hosted by the Davis
family on September 29 (4:00 pm). We hope you will mark your calen-
dar and join us for these times of fellowship.
Outreach—I Can Only Imagine is an outstanding movie and we hope you
will bring your friends to this all church movie night. It will take place on
Sunday, September 30 from 6-8 pm. There is no charge to attend and
we will have popcorn and concessions for everyone to enjoy. Below is a
short description of the movie.
I Can Only Imagine is a movie about the power of
faith, love, family, and music based on the real-
life story behind the eponymous song, which be-
came the most-played radio single in Christian
music history.
The film tells the inspirational journey that Bart
Millard (J. Michael Finley), the lead singer of the
Christian band MercyMe, experienced with his
troubled father that inspired him to write the
song. Their story illustrates that nobody is ever
too far from God’s love for a transformational ex-
perience.
• Student Ministries
Ontrack (Jr. High) and Satellite (Sr. High) will resume their weekly Sunday evening meetings on Septem-
ber 9.
• Kid Blast
Kid’s Blast (elementary k-5) will kick off in the fall on September 12 at 6:45 p.m. We hope to have anoth-
er awesome time of Bible, worship and games as we seek to grow in our faith and reach out to our
friends.
• Young Adult Bible Study
Tuesdays at 6:30 pm all college age students and 20-something adults are invited to attend MCC’s Young
Adult Bible Study. Currently they are studying the book of Lamentations. Check with Arlen Gerig and see
how you can become involved with this dynamic group of young people.
• Greeting Card Ministry
Lisa Wicks is starting a new ministry to wish individuals in our congregation a Happy Birthday. Please put
your name and birthday on the signup at the information table so Lisa can begin to launch this ministry.
We also will be sending out cards for hospital stays and other important events in our lives. Thanks Lisa
for having a heart for this ministry.
• Senior Luncheon—September 14
On Friday, September 14 all of our Senior Saints (60 plus) are invited to the Davidson’s for a luncheon.

Only Imagine. There is no charge. Popcorn and concessions will be available.
WOMEN’S MINISTRY FALL ACTIVITIES
• Bible Study
Because of busy schedules and some of us travelling we won’t be starting the Fall study until Thursday,
October 4 (7:00 pm) at the church. The study is a six-week study by Priscilla Shirer, called Breathe. If you
get a chance google it and watch the trailer. It’s about taking the Sabbath, going through the scriptures,
and learning how to rest amidst our busy lives. It will be a good one. There will be a signup sheet at the
information table or just send Kathy an email or text to let her know you want to signup.
• Craft Night
We will have our annual Holiday Craft Night in November. Watch for the date (it’s usually the first or sec-
ond Friday night of the month). Please join us. This is a great night of fellowship – the craft is secondary.
You don’t need to be “really crafty” . . . some of us aren’t crafty at all. It’s just good girlfriend time.
• Christmas Lunch—December 2
This is another opportunity to spend time together and continue to grow in our friendships. It will be at
12:30 pm after second service December 2. We have lunch and a gift exchange. More details to follow.
Watch the bulletin and the information desk.
• Jail Ministry
This will be our third year to provide gifts for the children of inmates housed at Medina County Jail. The
inmates fill out a sheet with names, gender, and ages and we provide a few inexpensive gifts for each
child. We’ll be getting together on some Saturday coming up to sort through what we have left from last
year. So as you’re shopping and you see those dollar bins at Target and other stores pick up a few items
like pencils, stickers, books, socks, puzzles, anything you think a child would enjoy in a Christmas bag.
Sometimes this is the only gifts the children get and it comes from mom or dad who can’t be with them. If
you’d like to be part of the Saturday sorting party please let Kathy know.
• Jail Women’s Choir
Earlier this year a few of us went to hear the Women’s Choir at the jail and were so blessed by it. I’ll be
contacting Sue Jarvis at Medina County Jail to see if the ladies will be doing Christmas music again and
hopefully we can set up a time to go hear them. This blesses both groups – us and the inmates.
That’s it for now! If you have questions, comments, or suggestions for our MCC Women’s Ministry please contact Kathy Summers, [email protected] or (330) 461-1081.
