Obeying to God’s Call “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” - Joshua 1:9 After Moses death, Joshua was commanded by God to lead the Israelites cross the Jordan River to conquer and live in the land that God had promised them. It wasn’t a walk in the park, however they succeeded.

I invite each of you to be sensitive in what God is calling you to do in your everyday life. Like Joshua, I believe God has commanded each of us to do something significant in our generation. However, there are times that we find it difficult to obey especially when we are face by different oppositions or perhaps struggles.

Obeying God’s command is not easy. Surely, we will face circumstances that sometimes will make us feel discourage. Of course, there are also fears and doubts, not sure whether we are really on the right path.

The scripture above encourages us to be strong and courageous no matter what. When we encounter difficulties along the way, let us be certain of God’s pres-ence, for just like what he did with Joshua and the people of Israel, for He will be with us wherever we go.

As we continue the life of living in obedience to God’s call, we are invited to rest in His promise and be at peace of His presence wherever He leads us. And just like Moses, our work is not yet done until the time when God calls us home.

In Our Prayers

Nathan Naweji & the

Connell United Methodist Church

Pastor Hubert has asked us to make a with each other as a family of Christ to take time to pray together. So that wherever we are, we take time to stop and pray and know that our brothers and sisters are praying with us. For our church, our community, our country, our world, and all the concerns of our hearts. Continue to pray always but at 7am and 7pm every day, let us all stop and pray together. Prayer is such a powerful thing and lifting our prayers together will bring us closer together as a family of Christ.

To add a prayer please email Jamie at [email protected]

You Can't Take it With You!

Rick Warren writes, "Generosity is an investment. Luke 16:9 says, “Use your worldly resources to benefit others” (NLT, second edition). I’ve said many times that you can’t take it with you. Did you know that mortuaries sell burial suits? They’re for people who want to be buried in a suit but don’t have one. Do you know what the difference is in a burial suit? There are no pockets in them! It’s true! You don’t need them, because you can’t take it with you. " The Capital Improvement Fund is in need of funds! Be generous & invest wisely.

This Month Offering:

United Methodist

Christian Education

The lessons of Christian education make it possible for us to practice love and to live as children of God. How well we—children, youth, or adults—learn those lessons day by day will determine what kind of church we are Sunday by Sunday. Christian education is a sacred responsibility. To give Christian education less than our best would be unfaithful to the life God has called us to live and to the world God has called us to serve. If there is ever a generation somewhere, sometime, that does not know the power of God’s love, it will be because some generation did not continue to teach and learn.
