What is Worship?

Rev. Steven Epperson

Every Sunday, we gather for worship

services at UCV. But consider these

questions: What do we think we’re doing

when we do worship? What do we feel

and experience? Is worship important,

and why?

This will be an all congregation/all

ages worship service where we get to ask

and explore the meaning of worshipping

as a Unitarian congregation.

When Religion Runs Off the Rails

Rev. Steven Epperson

Having explored what religion may be

good for in February, let’s follow that up

with a walk on the wild, more forbidding

side of it. People have been asking what

the heck’s going on with the toxic brew

of religion, culture and politics south of

the border and elsewhere. Let’s see where

the journey takes us.

The Chalice Choir sings.

March 25

Intergenerational Solidarity and Us

Rev. Steven Epperson

Increasingly, it is becoming clear that

young people, roughly between the ages

of 18 – 35, who make up what’s called

the “Millennial Generation” face a unique

set of challenges. How is this cohort

responding to them? How does it impact

their future and spirituality? And how can

other age groups respond generatively?

This service will be a good run-up for

our April 7th Metro Vancouver Gathering

which will be exploring this and related

issues.

The National Housing Strategy: Will It Solve the Crisis?

The federal government describes its

National Housing Strategy as a 10-

year, $40-billion plan that “will

strengthen the middle class, fuel our

economy and give more Canadians a

place to call home.” Critics point to

growing homelessness and increasing

unaffordability and charge that the plan is

seriously deficient.
