Week of July 28, 2013 Weekly News
This Sunday
The Lord's Prayer, or Our Father, is
probably the best-known of all
Christian prayers - and for good
reason. Do you know where it comesfrom? Have you spent any time lately
thinking about what you are really
asking for when you recite it? Might
want to give it some thought. It's
much more radical than its familiaritymight lull us into believing.

Explore God is getting closer! If you have not
explored the Explore God website, it's time to
start clicking. And start thinking about friends who
might be intrigued by a safe, non-judgmental
place to explore real questions about the basic -
but crucially important - topics. Topics like: Doeseverybody have a purpose? Is there really a
God? If there is really a God who is good, why is
life so . . . hard? And more. This week's video is
here.
FAITH and growth
Speaking of the Lord's Prayer and repetition, did
you know that there are several ways to access theEpiscopal daily prayer services and Bible readings
online? These sites walk you through an ancientway of orienting yourself to the Lord every day, and
also walk you through most all of the Bible over thecourse of two years. You can jump in any time.
Pastor Jennifer likes the audio version - she has itloaded on her browser home page so when she
cranks up her computer in the morning, MorningPrayer cranks up with it! It takes less than 10 minutes.

For Noonday PrayerFor Compline (bedtime)
Also outstanding is the Mission St. Clare site for reading (instead of listening). It
also contains links to the audio services listed above, and various other prayerbook services, as well as mobile apps.
Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, you have access to the tools to pray
with the whole Church.
