Good Morning and Welcome! You had lots of

choices this Sunday, and we are so glad that you

are here with us! We want to connect with you at

your speed and in your way. Please take a

moment to complete a Connect Card from the

seatback in front of you, and bring it by the info

center to receive a special gift.

About Us We follow Jesus Christ, believing that

he not only provided a way for us to have peace with God, but gave

us an example of how we should live. Our doors and arms are open

humbly and joyfully to anyone who wants to learn with us how to

follow Jesus Christ as Lord. As we say, "Grace happens here."

Good Morning,

We have all been wounded by others. Maybe it was outright abuse, or reckless

offense, or maybe just neglect. It is most common for people to keep their

wounds open. They fester and ooze bitterness, defensiveness, anger, irritation.

Sometimes those present as selfishness or arrogance. Wounds aren’t

supposed to stay open. God says we can heal them!

The Wound of Abuse. Do you live with memories of abuse? Can you name the

person and the action? Write it out in story form. Give it a headline. Read it

again. Then, as an act of your will, as a choice to love your enemies, write across

it in all caps: FORGIVEN! While remaining safe, do something good for the

person who abused you. Do it anonymously if that’s best, but make the

blessing something they will notice. Just bless them without expecting anything

in return then read Luke 6:27.

The Wound of Offense. Do you rehearse stories of how people have wronged

you? Do you ever tell the story to others for sympathy? Write it out one more

time, and give the offense a headline. Then, as an act of love, write FORGIVEN

across it. Start to treat them as if there was no offense. Then go to anyone you

told about the offense, and ask them to honor your decision to forgive, by not

bringing up the stories anymore, then read Luke 6:28-31.

The Wound of Neglect. Do you feel overlooked, unimportant, discarded, or

uncared-for? Did someone responsible for you not fulfill their responsibility?

Write a “benefit of the doubt” scenario: What if they were simply too weak to

carry the responsibility? Or what if they were strongly carrying another burden

you didn’t know about? You don't have to accept either of those version as the

only explanation, but consider them as plausible explanations. Then, as a

choice, write across the story: FORGIVEN. If it’s safe to do so, invite the person

who neglected you to a meal. Show them the love and mercy you wanted, then

read Luke 6:32-36.

If you enjoyed today’s message stop by the Info Center & order

a DVD or CD for $3

Take time to meditate and ask God to show you the wounds that you still

carry. If you put yourself under the care of Jesus, and devote yourself to

learning his ways, you can be freed from wounds you still have.

Genesis 37:47 ~ The Story of Joseph

“The Bible Story of Joseph, from the Book of Genesis, is one of heroic

redemption and forgiveness. Joseph was the most loved son of his father,

Israel, given the famous robe of many colors. When Joseph reported

having dreams of his brothers, and even the stars and moon, bowing

before him, and their jealousy of Joseph grew into action. The brothers

sold him into slavery to a traveling caravan of Ishmaelites who took him

to Egypt and sold him to Potiphar, the captain of Pharaoh's guard”.

our campus and want your input

we repave the parking lot, or give the

restrooms a makeover? Proverbs 11:14
