IntroductionThe chain type mercerizing machine is a textile processing apparatus manufactured by Poong Kwang Machine co. based on its extensive expertise and know-how in textile machines accumulated over the years.

When cotton cloth or other woven fabrics are applied with tensile while being processed with an NAOH solution, a silky luster is obtained. It can also lead to improved dyeing features, stability in shape measurements, increase in hygroscopic property and improvement in strength. The machine is essential for the achievement of a sophisticated appearance of fabrics.

Chainless Mercerizing Machine

Unlike chain type mercerizing machine, impregnation, timing zone, stabilizing processes are done in consecutive mangle zone. Fabric gets reacted by repetition of squeezing and impregnation.

Constructed of stainless steel material, the washing cistern is specially designed to improve washing effect. With high efficiency washing cistern, fabric gets perfect washing effect after mercerization. At second last washing cistern, automatic PH control can be possible by metering pump for better washing effect.

Stainless dry cylinder is designed to control speed and prevent wrinkling during the drying stage.

Mercerizing Principle

For the best quality of mercerizing process, 5 factors can be directly affected to fabric quality. Those are time,

temperature, caustic soda baume, fabric tension, and washing effect. From the more than 30 years experience of

Poong Kwang, we have key technologies for controlling those mercerizing conditions.

Time For normal cotton fabric (150~250gsm), 50~55 sec is best time period for mercerization.

Baume of caustic soda

Normally, 20 ~25 be’ of caustic soda can be used for mercerizing process. Our automatic baume control device would supply appropriate baume at all time.

Fabric Tension Unlike knit mercerizing, woven fabric needs proper tension during the mercerizing process. Our extensive know-how would help mercerizing process without wrinkling and crease mark.

TemperatureThe best temperature for mercerizing is 18°C-20°C, and mercerizing process shows exothermic reaction when caustic soda meets water. We control temperature through chiller, so same temperature of caustic soda can be supplied at all time.

Washing Effect Washing is a step that needs to be finished in mercer iz ing range. Poong Kwang washing cistern gives best washing effect compared to existing washing box.
