Planned, implemented and oversaw a series of events to mark the 100 th Anniversary of No. 24 Squadron, RAF. This involved liaison with Buckingham Palace, Senior RAF Leadership, civilian organizations and business to deliver Royal Dining-In Night for 100 people, a Families Day program of activities including aircraft flights for over 400 people, and a separate Squadron commemoration. While commanding an overseas deployment of two aircraft and 80 personnel required to organize the rapid redeployment of assets to assist in a high profile, time sensitive mission. Communicated situation to all stakeholders, produced revised tasking prioritisation guidance and liaised with host nation authorities to return all personnel and aircraft to the UK 2 days ahead of schedule, while achieving all the aims of the deployment in the reduced timescale.

2008 to 2012 – Exchange Officer, Royal Australian Air Force (Manager / Instructor).Selected early from a strong field for exchange duties with the Royal Australian Air Force.

As part of the Squadron management team, was instrumental in enabling the Australian governmental response to a series of natural disasters within the region including the Japanese Tsunami, Christchurch earthquake, cyclones and bushfires. Involved rapid decision making and execution of time critical tasks, often under intense scrutiny and pressure.

Flying Instructor, responsible for teaching aircrew tactical flying procedures. Chosen to fly the Prime Minister of Australia, Julia Gillard, on her visit to Afghanistan.

Early advancement to Flight Commander, leading a team of 16 Australian aircrew at home and on operations within Australia and worldwide.

Led an Australian detachment of air- and ground-crew operating 3 aircraft on deployment in the Middle East for 4 months. Effectively managed and motivated all personnel despite arduous working conditions (temperatures often as high as 50degC). Ensured constant communication with multi-national stakeholders to ensure smooth running of deployment while maintaining morale of personnel. Achieved 100% mission success in maintaining the supply line with units based in Afghanistan.

2004 to 2008 – Squadron Co-pilot / Captain, 30 Squadron (Flight Lieutenant / Specialist pilot).Selected ahead of peers for training and duties as a Tactical Air Transport pilot, flying Operations worldwide, including Iraq and Afghanistan.

As Deputy Flight Commander and junior co-pilot, conducted the daily running of a high-tempo Front Line Operational Squadron.

Appointed Pilot Leader ahead of both peers and seniors, responsible for the management of all Squadron pilots.

Significant experience of operating large aircraft globally, responsible for the crew, task and international engagement, often in high-pressure, time sensitive situations.
