NEWS FROM AND FOR THE CONGREGATION

--Be sure to be in church this Sunday, May 29, 10:45 AM, as we mark the Memorial Day Weekendby especially remembering those faithful people of our congregation who passed away during the lastyear; Ethel Voorhees, Bill Presley, Joy Chapman, Lillian Brandt, Mazie Archibald, David Wolfe, andFrank Fry.

--Thanks again to the choir for all their faithful music these past 12 months! We are always somuch "richer" because of their music! To Choir Director Ron Apperson, Organist Ginny Trapp, and toevery member of the choir, our great appreciation!

--Speaking of music, the Diaconate voted to make it their project for the next year, the choosing of,and raising funds for, new Hymnbooks to replace our ancient Pilgrim Hymnals.

--And further speaking of music: We would love to have Special Music during our worshipservices this summer! Please talk to Mike about a date for you!

--So good to see John Thomas back in church already! He is making great progress from his legsurgery, and is back in his longtime home at Samaritan Village.

--Thanks again to the Youth Group for leading the Worship Service on Sunday, May IS! It wasalso a great pleasure to honor our five graduating High School Seniors.

--Thanks to the congregation as always for your support of the One Great Hour Of Sharing. Thisyear's total special offering was, at last report, $510.

--Looking ahead: Note for your future plans that during the last week of June, we will bepublishing a two-month July-August issue of the Wright Ups. AND, be thinking about attending a veryspecial edition of our annual Idaho Association UCC Fall Meeting, September 23-24 in Challis. Hostedby our Community UCC church there, the event will take place at the nearby beautiful Living WatersRanch and Retreat Center. Full details in next month's newsletter.

What great fun we'll all have again this year on Saturday, June 18, when we host and enjoy our I"Annual Luau and Silent Auction. Some further notes:

-Buy your tickets soon, and take a packet of tickets to sell to friends and family! And considerdonating something special for the Silent Auction.

--Thanks again to Lupe and John Tauati and their big extended family for the enormous amount ofplanning, time, and work they donate to the church each year. Their food, their dancing, their everythingarejust wonderful!

I--A new addition to the festivities this year: During the dinner hour, we will be entertained by the I

Boise Ukulele Group.

--And, let's all make this an "'INVITING EVENT"! That is, invite friends and family to be with usnot just for the fun, but also with the idea that we introduce others to Wright Church, and share with themthe joy of being disciples of Jesus in our congregation! Thanks!

Stewardship Message from Carl Van slyke

"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" Mt 6:21

This was the theme of our stewardship campaign last fall. I do believe thesewords to be true based on where our budget stands today.

Since we are now one-third (I cannot believe it) through 2011, I thought I wouldtake this opportunity to bring you an update on the Church's General Fund budget andthe progress we are making toward the goals that we set for ourselves in January at theAnnual congregation meeting. We set our goals high---total General Fund Expenses of$ 123,218, total estimated income of $ 111,391 with a resulting negative balance of$ 11,827. We proposed some real stretches on the income side of the budget.

How are we doing? For the first four months (33 %) of the year this is where weare:

INCOME

12 month 4 monthBudget Actuai

De Beaumont Fund $ 8,300 $ 8,552

Pledged income $77,295 $26,931

Unpledged income $22,296 $ 8,651

Endow interest $ 400 $ 82

Notes: The De Beaumont Fund receipt of $8,552 is the total for the year, but is included in total in the four month column. If this amount is adjusted tofour months, total income for four months is $44,817---40% of 12 month budget.

Our confirmation class continues. We have a fine group of young people who are completingtraining regarding the beliefs and history our Church. We look forward to welcoming them as thenewest members of our Church on Sunday; June 12;

Our summer celebration is set for June 18th• Come join the fun of our Luau. Tickets are nowavailable, bring your family and invite a guest. We will be having a silent auction. Do you havesomething interesting for the auction? Would you like to bid on something interesting?

Pilgrim Cove thanks you for the coffee mugs. Ask and you shall receive! We can always use a fewmore. Spring comes late in the high country, but it is coming to the Camp. Do you have a weekend youcan spend preparing the Camp for the summer season? Any of Pilgrim Cove Board members canprovide details.
