Defining problems to resolve

Without problems there are no projects.

Finding problems (difficulties, challenges)The essence of the organization's work is to make a positive change in the environment, in which they operate (for example: improvement disabilities more accessible to the general sports). Each of these changes resulted from the needs of a particular social group. Then from define and describe the group begins to analyze the problem.

Question 1: For who you is your project?

Audience is the person (or group of peoples) to be targeting by the action. These are participants of our project. The project will change their situation for “better”. Who will be in this group dependents from us and our project. For example: disabled peoples, teachers, unemployed young people under 25 years of age. This is group we are going to work.

Question 2: Where are the customers?

The answer may be a geographical area (such as the disabled from the city Police, problem with drugs in our city) or institution (for example: students from the local University, officials of family assistance center).

Question 3: What we know about the audience ?

When you specify your audience and where they come from, you must specify the source of information about their situation. The data that we collect, must be the most objective and reliable information, for example: official, available to anyone - for example, the local statistics, the police, social welfare, public opinion polls. You can also do your own research. The data that we collect, should include a pre-determined by project territory. For students of the local university, data sources can be: dean department, student council , interviews with teachers and students themselves. Sources must be appropriate to the group and to the territory - that is what is defined by answering the first two questions .

Question 4: How big is your audience group ?

Specify the number of the persons who are defined as a group of customers in the territory. This number should be determined on the basis of the data collected.

Write a complete list of problems that are known with respect to chosen groups of customers.
