ABSTRACT
Title: LAGRANGIAN-LAGRANGIAN NUMERICAL SCHEME FOR FLUID SOLID INTERACTION
Abstract: Research on numerical schemes on fluid-solid interaction has been quite intensive in the past decade. The difficulties associated with accurate predictions of the interaction at specific spatial and temporal levels. Traditional computational fluid dynamics schemes are struggling to predict at high level of accuracy for this type of problem. Hence, in the present study, an alternative numerical scheme was proposed to predict the fluid flow and coupled with a Lagrangian scheme on the prediction of solid phase. The dynamics of a solid particle in a lid-driven cavity was investigated at a wide range of Reynolds numbers. The results show that the particle trajectories are critically dependence on the magnitude of Reynolds numbers and the vortex behavior in the cavity. Good comparisons with the experimental and previous studies demonstrate the multidisciplinary applications of the present scheme.

• Normally 1-1.5 pages
• Provides insights to the current or past problem
• Provides comprehensive literature review
• At least 15-20 references cited with most current literatures of 1-3 years back from the year of submission.

INTRODUCTIONSample of good literature review
To the best of authors’ knowledge, only Tsorng et al. (2006) reported details experimental results on the behavior of solid particles in lid-driven cavity flow from micro to macro size of particles. Other experimental works are Adrian (1991), Han et al. (1999), Matas et al. (2004), Ushijima and Tanaka (1996), Ide and Ghil (1997), Hu(2003), Liao (2002). However, according to these papers, high accuracy of laser equipments together with high-speed digital image capture and data interpretation system is required to obtain reliable experimental data. Such these high cost experimental devices will not be affordable if not supported by research fund.
INTRODUCTION
Last paragraph
As their model predicts excellent results when compared to the experimental results, however, the complicated nature of Navier-Stokes equation demands high computational time in resolving fluid part.
The emphasis is on the integration of the meso-scale of LBM and the macro-scale of physical condition. Other numerical issues related to the fluid solid simulation are also highlighted. Therefore, the objectives of this study are coupling the technique of the LBM formulation and solid particle dynamics (Lagrangian-Lagrangian), and to do improvement on this fundamental knowledge on the fluid-solid interaction.

COVER LETTER
Dear Editor,
I am pleased to submit a manuscript entitled ‘Lagrangian-Lagrangian numerical scheme for fluid solid interaction’ to be considered for publication in the International Journal of Multiphase Flow. We feel that this manuscript is relevant for publication in the International Journal of Multiphase Flow because of the main interest of the journal is in the recent progress in multiphase flow and its application in mechanical engineering and sciences.
COVER LETTER
The research paper of our study that focused in the mathematicalformulations and integration between macro and meso-scale would make a significant contribution to knowledge. The objective of the research reported in this manuscript is to analysis the capability, accuracy and the efficiency of the proposed scheme and to investigate the solid fluid in a shear driven cavity. To the best of our knowledge, no similar finding has been reported by previous researchers.
Looking forward for a favorable reply from you soon.
Thank you.
