kettles changed to making helmets.

• American industry was revitalized by the war, and by 1945 many sectors were oriented to defense production.

• People in the Soviet Union weren’t able to get food unless they worked some way for the war effort.

THE ROLE OF WOMEN AND CHILDRENWomen were conscripted for jobs especially for technical ones. In 1941 in Britain women aged 20-30 were called up more than ever before.Some women worked 80-90 hours per week on aero plane assembly lines. Many joined armed forces and served overseas.In Japan, children were sent to work in factories.
