PRESIDENTS MESSAGE JUNE 2020
Welcome JUNE, may you scatter blessings of health, happiness and prosperity to all.
I hope this email finds everyone well…. how I miss you all. It is a pleasure seeing Members that are on Facebook sharing their home projects or precious times with their children and grandchil-dren. It makes me feel connected with all of you – “thank you”. A brief shout out to the Members that attended “In Between the Cracks” this Memorial Day weekend. We enjoyed a short ride through the Town of Harrisville and Pascoag. Then a brief stop for Ice Cream and then a caravan to surprise my niece Ava who graduated from Mount St. Charles. The Tree House Tavern welcomed us for an impromptu lunch; where we then took off from there and headed to North Kingstown to wish Brett a Happy 10th Birthday. Brett’s dad Gregg reached out to us via FB and requested if any members could surprise their son – and we did – thank you everyone.
If anyone has a special occasion that they would like a parade of cars from our Club to attend, please do not hesitate to contact me and we will see what we can make happen. If we can at best put some smiles on some faces this year, WHY NOT! – This was our first time together as a more larger group since our last birthday parade – and we are getting better in keeping COVID SAFE…this NEW NORMAL is not easy for anyone – and I thank everyone for making every effort in making sure we stay safe when we are together. Please be patient, stay humble, stay kind, stay safe for everyone. None of us want this unknown virus.
THERE WILL BE NO MEETING IN JUNE – and we are hoping that maybe for JULY we can have our first “OUTDOOR MEETING”. I will ask that everyone be respectful of each other and the rules in place – of course the front table when speaking – if we take our masks off – we will be sitting the appropriate distance from each other at the front table – AGAIN, THIS NEW NORMAL ISN’T EASY – but I am hoping that we can do this together so we can be together.
AUGUST – looks more of a promising month – we are hoping to have a Blessing of the Cor-vettes at Scalabrini Home – as a drive by on August 2, 2020, a meeting in August, Track day and our ANNUAL COCKTAIL PARTY HAS BEEN MOVED TO AUGUST. I am working with Crystal Lake and 100 guests are welcome to attend. I will be putting a menu together and working on having this event in a COVID SAFE ENVIRONMENT. I will keep you posted on the cost per person and that payments will need to be made prior to the event.
So, stay tuned – communication is key – and please be sure to like our FB page CORVETTE CLUB OF RHODE ISLAND – for other listings and postings. My Goal is to keep the membership in-formed as best as possible.

Our Treasurer, Michael Pascale has been maintaining our books and we are staying strong and careful this year; Our VP and Membership Director, Dennis Langlois is still taking in new members – and it was nice seeing some new members over the weekend.
I enjoy hearing from you all and thank you to those that check on me on a weekly basis – I am HUMBLED.
The Activities Committee has a fun activity for everyone to do – so please be sure to read this entire NEWSLETTER. We hope to still be having POLO, CARLISLE, OUR WEEKEND GETAWAY…TOYS FOR TOTS AND OUR CHRISTMAS GALA. We take one event at a time always putting the Member-ship first. Richard Nelson and Mark Trainor are working on a 50th Anniversary shirt for our Corvettes by the Sea - (possibly) - that Members can purchase, so stay tuned for that news as well.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2020 GRADUATES – A CORVETTE WAVE TO ALL OF YOU – KEEP REACH-ING FOR STARS ALWAYS. Our prayers for the Tomlinson Family on the loss of their son and prayers to Richard Gallo for a speedy recovery. Please keep us all in your prayers.
WE HOPE OUR SPONSOR PAUL MASSE, HIS FAMILY, THE PAUL MASSE DEALERSHIP FAMILY, THEIR FRIENDS AND EMPLOYEES ARE ALL DOING WELL AND STAYING HEALTHY. I hope you like their face book page and see all the wonderful charity work they are doing throughout Rhode Island during this pandemic. We are humbled for their Sponsorship and wish them nothing but life’s best al-ways. Be sure to visit your Masse dealership if you are considering in upgrading your RIDE!
I am humbled to be your President and look forward to the time we can HUG again.
