THE PANEL INTERVIEWTHE PANEL INTERVIEW
More than one person interviews you at the same time.
Has the advantage that the decision about your future is not in the hands of one person.
Normal for government and large organizations to use this style.

INFORMAL INTERVIEWINFORMAL INTERVIEW
Used for many casual positions. Can accidentally happen when visiting a
place of business or other people in your network of acquaintances.
Be prepared for the unexpected as it could be held on the “factory floor” whilst walking around.

FORMAL INTERVIEWFORMAL INTERVIEW
Is usually held in an office. The questions are very structured. You will be seated - so body language
becomes important. You must have documentation with you. You will be “on your own”.

PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTSPSYCHOLOGICAL TESTS
Some employers use analytical tests of – Physical and Mental Ability– Personality and Motivation
Employers use the results as a back-up to other selection procedures.
Try to “Be yourself” during these tests.

JOB SIMULATIONSJOB SIMULATIONS
Large companies sometimes give you tasks to do in the actual work place.
Job applicants spend up to 2 days completing – Group discussions– Giving presentations– Doing “in-tray” or other exercises.– Panel interviews.

You are being interviewed every time you talk to someone who is in a position to hire you or is someone who can refer you to someone who can !
So always conduct yourself in a “proper” manner and be polite.
