VS. WEST DIDSBURY & CHORLTON RESERVES
20th December 2014 Cheshire League 2
Official Match Day Programme 2014/15
Today we welcome West Didsbury & Chorlton Re-serves, another tough outfit who will pose another threat and will undoubtedly be the next team wanting to take our unbeaten record off us. They have had some good results recently but we know our strengths, the players know the standards I set for them week in, week out. We come into this game off the back of yet another win against higher league opposition. It was pleasing to see the team create so many chances and it’s great for the club to be going into the J A Walton Challenge Cup Quarter-Finals group winners. But all I am focused on at the moment is ensuring my team get the result from this game after a long break of games from our last league game. Enjoy the match and stay for a drink in the clubhouse afterwards. Lee McGregor, WTFC 1
st Team Manager
Altrincham FA Senior Cup: In the semi-final of the Altrincham FA Senior Cup we will face Kartel Sports at home. Support the club in this massive match, with a final at stake, this is an important match for the club. Manager Lee McGregor had his say on the draw: “We are relishing the chance to get Wythenshawe into a cup final but this is no small feat, we will have to play at the top of our game but we have the quality amongst our squad to put a great performance in. Support the club, in what is going to be a very big game. Match to be played on March 7th.

Match Action
Wythenshawe Town welcomed Golborne Sports to Ericstan Park in the J A Walton Chal-lenge Cup. A win would see Wythenshawe take top spot in the group. Goals from Ben Brooks (2), Ash Woodhead (1), Remmi Williams (1) & Jamie Dickinson (1) secured a very comfortable game for Wy-thenshawe which guarantees top spot of Group 3 in the Challenge Cup. We will now face one of the other group run-ners-up in the knockout stage, away from home.
Manager Lee McGregor said, “It was a good result against another higher-league opposition but we have to take more of our chances, but the creativity of the team was pleasing and can only be positive moving forward. I eagerly anticipate the Quarter-Finals of the Challenge Cup.

Chairman’s Chat We enter our last game of 2014 hoping to maintain the 100% record looking to continue into 2015. The year as been amazing extremely stressful but enjoyable and rewarding. The role of chairman at a community football club covers a wide range of duties including setting standards with the FA and football foundation ensuring all our coaches and managers have the required qualifications crb/dbs, coaching badges first aid to name just a couple. Plus regular meeting with the Fa,council, committee, football managers. The role is not like that of a social club or labour club chairman they are totally different more responsibility a lot more rules and regulations to adhere to all of which are monitored as you would expect. Fortunately we have a fantastic team of people in place who are extremely supportive without whom we would not have achieved so much this year I thank each and everyone of you. I thank James Lobley our press officer for the production of our fantastic programme, hosting our own radio show Monday 7/8 97.2fm, managing our web and twitter accounts and taking all our match day pictures, Thank You. Dave Cronin our welfare officer and aps for the for printing the programmes, Thank You Rob Wynes our football development officer without his support we would never have achieved as much in 2014, Thank You Angie in her first year as first team secretary she as been a fantastic help well organised and supportive, Thank You Our managers, volunteers, supporters. Social members, darts teams, pool teams, committee members and Tom and his fantastic bar staff thank you so much. Next year we have set targets I am extremely confident in the team of people we have at this amazing club together we will succeed. We go into 2015 with pride in what we have achieved in 2014 well done and thank you to each and everyone of you.
