XIII Black Bass World Championships
SOUTH AFRICA
On behalf of F.I.P.S.e.d. and the South African Bass Angling Association (SABAA), we would like to invite all F.I.P.S.e.d. member Nations to attend the 2017 Black Bass World Championships. The Championships will be held on the Vaal River, South Africa from the 2nd October to the 8th October 2017. The venue is approximately one hour’s drive from O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. It is a great honour for SABAA to host the 2017 World Championships in South Africa and we will maintain the high standard that has been set by the previous host Nations. The Championships will be hosted from the Emerald Resort & Casino ( http://www.emeraldcasino.co.za/ ) which is situated approximately in the middle of the fishable area of the 52 kilometre long river.
News Letters We will be sending out a couple of newsletters that will FULLY cover the sequence of events and assist everyone in understanding what can be expected at this year World Championships. This will eliminate a lot of unnecessary discussions in the Team Managers Meetings. It will also make the Championship more enjoyable for the participants. This will also be a great tool for answering all questions that may be asked of the organizers.
Communication In order for us to get the required information to all, PLEASE provide us with ALL email addresses of managers, anglers, reserves, and delegates that are going to attend.
Drop Box SABAA has set up a Drop Box account and will be sharing a huge amount of information, pictures, videos and maps for all the participants. In order to invite participants to join we need their email addresses. This information will be very valuable and a great insight into what you can expect to find on the Vaal River.
Entry Fee SABAA is very pleased to announce that the cost for the Championship will be lower than was charged in many other time before. This is largely due to exchange rates in our favour. In order for SABAA to finalize and ensure that we have adequate accommodation, we require all Nations to complete FORM “A” and email it to Wendy Watson ([email protected]) before the
30th June 2017. Please note this is purely for planning purposes.
Entry forms and payment MUST be submitted to SABAA before the 25th August 2017. Please note that due to the South African Regulations we are not allowed to accept cash payments in foreign currencies. Fee Structure
The following two items are compulsory for all Nation Participating Registration Fee per Nation (rule 5.2) Euro 1400.00 F.I.P.S.e.d. Fee per Nation (rule 55) Euro 150.00 FORM”C” The following fees are for the full package and include the following:
1) Accommodation:- Two Anglers per Room – Managers and Reserves One per room. 2) Boat Hire: - Boat + Skipper + Fuel + Battery Charging + Maintenance + Available spare boat
and insurance. 3) Meals: Breakfast + Lunch / Boat Packs + Dinners + Welcoming and Prize giving Dinners. 4) Refreshments in the rooms. 5) Public / Civil Liability Insurance. 6) Trophies and Medals.
Anglers Fee all inclusive as above - each Euro 1350.00 Reserve Anglers Fee all inclusive each Euro 700.00 Managers and Delegates Fee all inclusive each Euro 700.00 FORM”D” The following fees EXCLUDE BOAT HIRE and include the following:
1) Accommodation:- Two Anglers per Room – Managers and Reserves One per room. 2) NO Boat Hire: 3) Meals: Breakfast + Lunch / Boat Packs + Dinners + Welcoming and Prize giving Dinners. 4) Refreshments in the rooms. 5) Public / Civil Liability Insurance. 6) Trophies and Medals.
NB. Nations choosing this option must provide the following documentation and inspection to the organisers before the commencement of the tournament: Valid Skippers Licences, Valid and adequate boat insurance, Valid “Certificate Of Fitness” by SADSAA, as well as all the safety equipment required as in the SABAA rules and regulations. (available in the SABAA Drop Box) Anglers Fee all inclusive as above - each Euro 990.00 Reserve Anglers Fee all inclusive each Euro 700.00 Managers and Delegates Fee all inclusive each Euro 700.00 FORM”E” The following fee excludes ACCOMMODATION and includes the following:

NB. Nations choosing this option must please think carefully. Remember you are in Africa and SECURITY is our primary concern for all visiting Nations. However security is not a big issue provided you do not go into risky areas. The Emerald Resort has excellent security and it is right on the water where we are hosting the Tournament. Program – Sequence of Events:
Monday 2nd October 2017 From 13h00 to 15h00 accreditation of delegation and collection of chalet keys. 15h00 - Managers / Captains Meeting held at the Conference Centre (Club House). 16h00 - Skippers Meeting to discuss and sign a non-disclosure agreement and code of conduct. 19h30 - Dinner at the Emerald Hotel. Tuesday 3rd October 2017 (Practise Day One) 06h00 - Breakfast in the anglers chalets 07h00 - (first flight) - start of the first training sessions. 07h10 - (second flight) 07h20 - (third flight) 16h00 - (first flight) - end of the first training session. 16h20 - (second flight) 16h40 - (third flight)
17h30 - meeting of the National Teams at the Clubhouse for team photographs. 18h00 - depart for the opening ceremony at the Emerald Casino Resort. 20h00 - dinner at the Emerald Hotel.
Wednesday 4th October 2017 (Practise Day Two) 06h00 - Breakfast in the anglers chalets 07h00 - (first flight) - start of the second training sessions. 07h10 - (second flight) 07h20 - (third flight) 16h00 - (first flight) - end of the second training session. 16h20 - (second flight) 16h40 - (third flight) 17h30 - Managers/Captains Meeting. 20h00 - dinner at the Emerald Hotel. 16h00 - (first flight) - end of the third competition session and weigh-in. 16h20 - (second flight) 16h40 - (third flight) 19h00 - depart by bus to the Emerald Hotel. (2 minute drive) 19h30 - prize giving ceremony and gala dinner in the Emerald Hotel banquet hall. 23h00 - buses depart every half hour back to the chalets. (2 minute drive) Sunday 8th October 2017 (Departure Day) 07h00 - Breakfast in the anglers chalets 11h00 - All Chalets to be vacated and keys handed in to the Organisers The World Championship tournament will conform to the Official F.I.P.S.e.d. Rules of International “For National” Championships. (Official Rules “BLACK BASS” approved by F.I.P.S.e.d.-Rome (Italy)-21-22/11/2014 or as amended. The World Championship local tournament committee would be organised and run by the SABAA President Mr. Craig Fraser. It would comprise of two sub committees of two to three members in each and under Mr. Barry Grove (SABAA Executive) and Mr. Mike Milligan. (SABAA Executive)
