TransportationPortable and easy to read, the XL-PMI Series lets users quickly and reliably identify crucial aluminum alloys. Typical alloying agents include light elements such as magnesium and silicon. The light element analysis capability of the XL-PMI+ Ultra ensures proper alloy use.
Power Generation The point-and-shoot simplicity of the XL-PMI Series measures critical factors, such as the amount of chromium, molybdenum and copperin piping that can lead to Flow Accelerated Corrosion (FAC) in your power plant.
Oil & GasThe XL-PMI Series has one of the lowest levels of detection for silicon. It is the ideal way to predict corrosion in existing pipes and fittings in older refineries. A low silicon content reading (<0.10%) of the pipes helps you determine when to replace the system components before there is an incident.

technologies, now offers the widest range of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) solutions in the industry with Positive Material Identification (PMI) analyzers. GE’s XL-PMI analyzers are powered by Thermo Fisher Scientific—bringing together the best of innovation and technology.
The XL-PMI Series analyzer features an integrated color CCD camera that isolates small sample area measurements on a finished weld bead and will verify weld chemistry and proper dilution—giving you optimum control over PMI accuracy. Key features include:
• 8mm diameter window, with optional 3mm small-spot collimation to focus on extremely small areas
• Customizable NDT software interface for easy data transfer, report creation and archiving capabilities
• Remote inspection monitoring capability with USB and Bluetooth data transfer
Now you can generate custom certificates of verification instantly, right from your inspection.
