The Unit sent cards to and visit-ed with Dottie Carter, who recovered from recent neck surgery. Please contact Mattie Kovac if Chaplain service is needed. Members may contact the Unit Chaplain or Unit President whenever someone is ill or confined to home or hospital so that members are aware of the need and can provide services to the individual. Please provide information about cards sent or visits paid to Branch or Unit members, to include in the Chaplain’s annual report.

In August, Barb requested donations toward the purchase of food supplies for Asbury United Methodist Church’s program to supply meals to home-less citizens. Our Unit received many thank you letters from organiza-tions to which the Unit sent annual donations. Toni O’Neill received an invitation to the Lone Sailor Awards Dinner in D.C. on 9/24/15. In July, Barb delivered to the Annapolis Veterans’ Center many packs of cook-

ies, large cans of coffee, tea, and other condiments.

Diane’s grand-son Dustin Jr. placed first in the DC race, and his brother Dawson placed 2nd. In the National race, Dustin (“DJ”) placed 7th, which was the first time a Hoover family member placed at National. We spon-sored 18 children racing this year.
