Fannie Mae uses financial accounting hub (FAH) to integrate their legacy financial and loan applications with E-Business Suite. Their current system integrates 4 of their legacy applications. Their plan is to integrate 14 more applications thus increasing the load by 300%. The current system itself processes millions of transactions every month and is multi-terabyte in size.
1
Designed a hardware solution which will be able to handle 20 million accounting transactions in 6 hours. This involved moving from a single instance server to a 2-node RAC running on IBM P770 (64 CPU cores at 3.1 GHz each) and moving from single node application tier to 4 nodes.
Upgraded the database to 11.2.0.2 Installed and migrated the database to 11gR2 RAC Partitioned tables based on application id and period to reduce I/o. Implemented PCP to enable node-affinity of concurrent programs with a particular RAC instance to
minimize interconnect traffic. Designed an archiving solution to keep only a rolling 13 months of transaction data in the
production database. This will keep the size of production database down to a manageable 10 TB. Designed a single sign-on solution using Oracle Access Manager and Oracle Internet Directory for
