Merry Chistmas and Happy New year

Introduction

First we would convey our thank to Leppävaaran koulun, Karakallion koulun päivätyökeräyskohde and Yayasan Penghibur

friend’s.

Yayasan Penghibur has 32 children and many activities for social developement. Those activities are Cattle, Furniture,

Agriculture, Health Service, Children Home. Not only for them who live inside Yayasan Penghibur but also for them who are

living arround our place.. We will tell you more about our children’s activities in Yayasan Penghibur here inside this buletin .

Christmas Time

When Christmas time is coming we always decorate our place with many kind of Christmas decoration, we start to decorate in the end of November. And every year we have different theme of Christmas, and the theme of this year we have Angelic Christmas. There are many angels in the window, ceiling, wall,

etc.

We always invite people outside to celebrate christmas with us in 10 December. And before the day is coming, we practice

some performances such as: drama, singing, dancing, etc. This year we performed drama about born of Jesus, choir, and poem. We wear unique costume and we have some songs during the drama. Those songs makes the drama looks very nice, and there is also a big star made from bamboo covered with paper and lamp inside it. So, when the drama begin lamps off and

the big star is shining.

As we told you in the opening that we have many activities here, our

children are involve in our activities. That helps them to improve their skill,

and help them to prepare theirself for personal quality after they live

outside.

We will tell you about some of our children activities here. Mostly they are

interest with what they are doing. And we are very happy to help them

improve what they have.

First we want to say some words about one of our little girl Mita. Mita is

one of the children in Yayasan Penghibur, she is in the second grade of

Elementary School. She has been staying here about 3 months. She has two

brothers who are staying in here also, one of them came in the same time with her. About one year a go her sister has been

stayed in here also, now her sister already back to her home. One of

her brother who has name Beni is 3 years older than her, he is having

TBC treatment. They are so little and cute. Her brother always

smiling, they are very sweet. There are 5 children who are still study

at Elementary School. That helps them to play and to learn in the same

grade, and makes them to think that they have lots of friends. Mita

loves to sing, she has a pure voice. She has difficulties in reading, but

now she makes progress after reading some books. We also provide

some school books, story books, and general books in our library for

the children.

Mega is a girl who just started her new class in Junior High School, she

is in the first grade of Junior High School. She is the leader in her

class, there are about 37 students in her class. And sometimes she is

chosen to be the leader of the ceremony in her school. She is doing

extra school activity in her new school. She choose voleyball for her

extra school activity. She also have scout every Friday. Once a week she

practice volleyball in her school, she get training about it with the other

student from different class. Every morning and afternoon she milking

the cow. She has responsibility to sweep on one of our area, it is near

our policlinic. She has sister who are already finished her study at

Nursing, and in the beginning of January her sister start to work.

Mary is a girl who come from Medan, Sumatra. She is in the second grade of Senior High

school, she takes science class. She helps in the milk kitchen when the woman who works

there having holiday. She also help to milking the cow. After all milks arrive in the kitchen

she will measure it one by one based on cow’s name, and she will write it down in the

report book. In the morning she will cook some of the milk and give it to the distributor

to sell it arround our place, and the rest of the milk she put in the refrigerator for the

people who order before. In the afternoon she cook some of them to our children and put

the rest in the refrigerator and sell it to the

people who are coming in our place to buy. After

having night prayer she

always report about the

milk and the income of the

day to Mami Anna-Liisa.

She is good at manage it

because she has been help

there for several times.

We have four persons who taking care of our cows. Three of them are exchildren

who help to taking care of the cow, they are Fani,Sanin, Yulius, and Alex. They are

not only taking care of the cows but also taking care of the plant in our garden

such as chili, tomato, spinach, etc. Chili and some vegetables are consume by our

children.We use the waste of the catle for fertilizer and biogas. Some of

the fertilizer we use for our plants and some of them we try to sell it to

the people outside (still in the procces for its feasibility in the chemical

laboratory).

And for biogas, we use it in the children kitchen, so we don’t have to

buy gas. One of them who has name Fani help to make fertilizer He is

diligent and hard worker. We plan to help him to take a haircut course next

year because he is good at it. Sometimes when one of our children want to

cut their hair, Fani help to cut it. That makes us want to help him to get

more skill and more knowledge about haircut. That will help him a lot to improve what

he have. . He also help to sell milk arround our area by motorcycle and in the morning

he distributes mushroom to the market.

There is maryana, when she taking chili from garden.

There is one girl who taking care of the mushroom, but when she has

holiday one of our girl who has name Katy will take over. In the morning Katy will

take the mushroom, then she clean it and pack it after wheighing about ¼ kg.

Every morning and afternoon, she water the mushroom. There are two places for

mushroom.Our children sometimes help in the cattle, mushroom, and milk when

they have holiday.

There is kemisih , when she reading braille because

she is blind from baby .Now she is junior haigh school in

solo, from as 200 km from place, she can see 10 cm.

And the following is Viona, while drawing something, she is

Autism girl

We also have agricultureland in the mountain,

it is about 6 kilometres from our place. We have a

small area there, with some houses which consist of

dormitory (boy and girl), bathroom, kitchen, nursery.

When the school holiday is coming our children will

spent some days there. They help to plant some seed

and water the plant. Some of the children bring the

fertilizer, some of them bring the seed, and some of

them bring the water. Everyone taking part in that

activities. That help them to love the nature and how

to work as a team. And if they stay for the night,

there is room to sleep and kitchen to cook some

food.

There is one place

more for children when they have holiday. It is the

beach. We have two boats which located in different

places. Those boats are using for fishing, and there

are some fishermen who are taking care of it. They

will report the income monthly. But during these days,

there is problem with the sea that makes them can

not get the fish. When the children having holiday

they can visit those boats.

Especially the children who study in Seamanship

Vocationanal School. They can practice what they have studied in

their school. We have three children who study in Seamanship

Vocational School and two children in Semanship Academy. One

of them is aboy named Yosep, he start his study this year. He is

stay in academy dormitory, all his activity are scheduled from

morning till afternoon. In the morning after having breakfast the

officer in his school will count the student and write it down.

Then his class begin, some classes start after lunch and some

classes start before lunch. When he has leisure time, he use it to

play football or volleyball. Sometimes he work together with his

friends to clean the dormitory area. And after the day is end, he

will have inspection from the officer to check the amount of the

student.

We have polyclinic,There is one nurse who taking care

of children when children while toothache, her name is yuni,

she is very nice nurse, she always take care children who need

help and medicine.

In this year we will starting furniture, and it is sampel of funiture what we make.
