Year 11 GCSE Science Revision Resources
In order to help Year 11 students prepare for their external GCSE examinations, the school provides the following resources:
www.doddlelearn.co.uk – content, revision resources and quizzes
The school moodle site – lesson notes and revision resources
In addition, students can purchase Collins revision guides through school at a discounted price. The RRP for each guide is £10.99 and the discounted price is £4.00. For Triple Science students, there is also the opportunity to offer a reduced price subscription to my-gcsescience.com , which includes videos and additional resources . The normal subscription price for an individual is £49.95, but we can purchase this through school for £7.00, with access to all of the unit 1, 2 and 3 videos. This does depend on enough students subscribing, and there is a maximum of 100 subscriptions which will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Sets 11x/Sc1, 11x/Sc2, 11x/Sc3, 11y/ScE, 11y/Sc1 and 11y/Sc2 would need three separate revision guides.
Sets 11x/Sc4 and 11y/Sc3 would need the Science and Additional Science revision guide, which covers the required content for Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
The GCSE Science syllabus was updated in 2011, so older versions of the revision guides that elder siblings used may no longer fully cover the requirements of the new course. If you are unsure which guides to order, or would like to confirm if the guides that you have are still relevant, please ask your child to check with their teacher, or contact me using the details below. The closing date for orders is 2.30pm on Monday 9th March. Payment should be made via the ParentPay system by this date.
