Beat It: The roots anchor the plant in the ground and they absorb water and nutrients from the soil.The stem holds the plant up and carries water and nutrients from the roots to the leaves.The leaves make food for the plant using sunlight and carbon dioxide. The flower attracts insects to begin pollination and grow new plants.
Smash It:Here are examples of some of the ‘Smash It’ sentences you may have written.
The roots of a tree will be longer and stronger than the roots of a small plant because a tree is bigger than a small plant. Theroots need to be strong enough to anchor it into the ground and prevent it from falling over.
The stem of a rose bush has thorns to protect it from animals who might eat them because of their scent.
