The Arena is open from 10.00am until 2.30pm every day.
You can play for 20 minutes whenever you like in that time frame. Every time you play and earn coins, you enter a daily leader board!

Activity 1: Read the poem

Activity 2: Acting it out
For inference, we need to look for clues to help us understand the poem. There are lots of active words. Stand up and try to act out some of the words. Try skipping and making a 'regular beat' 'shuffle' 'flick' 'slaps the ground' 'swish and swoop' What else can you do? If you have a skipping rope, use it!

Activity 3: Inference Practice
Now we know what the words feel like. We can start to understand what the author means. Let's use our inference skills to answer this question:

I think that the author thinks skipping is hard. I know this because he describes the rope as a 'whip' and says, 'don't trip'. This makes me think that the author is having to try hard to keep
jumping and avoid the 'whip'.

Handwriting
We have been developing our beautiful joined handwriting. Copy these words into your books. Make sure you have clear, tidy small and tall letters.

First things first, is there a capital letter? Yes there is.
I can see some spellings that I need to edit: - chef - mixed - enormous
Is there a full stop at the end? Yes!
Do I need to add some other punctuation marks? Yes, a list needs some commas.
