We love reading!
• Reading books should be brought to school every day
• Children choose their own reading books, however if their fluency is hampered they will be encouraged to swap
Writing• Power of Reading- children are
immersed into the text and will explore a range of writing opportunities (e.g. writing in role, newspaper articles) across a range of genres
• Special writing folder- extended pieces that are passed on through year groups.
• Link to topic and other subject areas where possible.

year objectives from 2014 Curriculum• Termly assessment week for maths,
reading, writing and SPaG

Homework• Will be sent out every fortnight.• Homework will always be given out
on a Friday and will need to be returned 10 days later.
• The homework will support the children’s learning across the curriculum.
• In addition to formal homework, it is important for children to always practise their times tables and read every day.
