Using the above picture as a prompt write a narrative using the 2 fire fighters as your main characters. Don’t forget that your story must have an orientation, complication and a resolution. Remember to elaborate on your ideas by showing not telling and use your five senses. Don’t forget to use correct punctuation. Have fun writing!

Write an acrostic poem using the letters F I R E S T O R M

An acrostic poem is a poem where certain letters in each line spell out a word or phrase. Typically, the first letters of each line are used to spell the message. Don’t forget to show not tell and try to use sentences not just single words. Be careful of punctuation!

Writing Focus of the week – Using correct punctuation

Fires are more dangerous than thunderstorms. Using your fire research from the beginning of the week write a persuasive text arguing that Fires are more dangerous then thunderstorms. Your writing will need: An opening statement, at least 3 arguments and a closing statement. Don’t forget to use the PEEL strategy to elaborate on your ideas. Pay attention to your use of correct punctuation.

Mathematics Number Talk On the planet Vuv there are two sorts of creatures. The Zios have 3 legs and the Zepts have 7 legs. The great planetary explorer Nico, who first discovered the planet, saw a crowd of Zios and Zepts. He managed to see that there was more than one of each kind of creature before they saw him. Suddenly they all rolled over onto their backs and put their legs in the air. He counted 52 legs. How many Zios and how many Zepts were there? Do you think there are any different answers?

PD/H/PE Rice Bag Score Fill a ziplock bag with rice or flour as a bean bag. Then using chalk draw a target and scores (Or use paper and write numbers on it placed on the floor). Verse a partner or if you don’t have a patner try and get the highest score with 20 throws.

Thinking about Sidney Nolan’s work and the story of Ned Kelly, you are to create an inspired Ned Kelly artwork. Find an A4 white paper and sketch an Australian landscape around the 1900’s, use colour pencils, crayons, oil pastels, whatever you have access to at home and decorate it.
