Revision & Preparation Ideas

Below are some revision ideas and tips to help you prepare for your

English examination. These are here to help you and will not be

marked or graded. If you have any questions, please contact your

teacher.

Exam Revision Sheet:

- Complete the exam revision sheet available on the Year 7 English homepage.

Class Work:

- Go over CaTSiP PowerPoints (available on the homepage). Take notes and

summarise what is said on the documents.

- Refresh your memory on ‘What is CaTSiP?’

- Look over past worksheets and documents and familiarize yourself with the

vast amount of topics we have covered.

Two Hands Together:

- Have another ‘quick’ flick through of the novel.

- Refresh your memory on the areas of CaTSiP shown throughout the novel.

Persuasion:

- Look over your modality table. Refresh your memory on what ‘high’ and ‘low’

modality words are.

- Brainstorm persuasive techniques (pg.168&169) and write phrases that

represent them.

- Look over ‘Chapter 6 Persuasion’ of your textbook (available on the

homepage)

Goodnight Mister Tom:

- Have another ‘quick’ flick through of the novel.

- Refresh your memory on the areas of CaTSiP shown throughout the novel.

If you complete ALL these activities you will be more than prepared for the

exam. Please remember that these activities ARE NOT compulsory and are

extra ideas for revision.
