PPE2 Revision Guide
March 2020
We all learn and remember things in different ways. Do you know what works well for you? Independent study is not just about studying at school. It includes what you do at home. These skills are important in not just helping you prepare for exams, but life beyond school. For example, learning how to drive. What is revision? Revision is the study of work you have done, in order to prepare for an exam. Where should you revise? Where you revise will affect how well you work. You need to work somewhere quiet, away from any distractions (TV, computer, phone, etc). When should you revise? • Draw up a revision timetable for each evening after school, the weekends, and half-term (there
is a template at the back of this booklet) • Each day’s revision should be divided up into blocks of 30–40 minutes each, with a 5–10
minute break in between each block • When you arrive home from school have a break, something to eat, and then study until 9pm at
the latest– any later and your brain is tired!
