Background

The opening of the new building of the Tel Aviv Museum is a major international anchor for the city and the country.

The new building will be the heart of a year of events which will deepen the city’s positioning as a cultural center .

Designed by Arch. Preston Scott Cohen and Amit Nemelich, the new building is a dynamic ornament made of 430 polished cement panels.

Rationale

The Year of Art is a major component of the city’s strategic plan to position Tel Aviv as a global city and a world cultural leader.

Goal

The opening will serve as trigger for artistic and cultural activity throughout the city.

The entire metropolitan area will come together in artistic celebrations .
