2016-17 was an amazing school year for Waukee Community School District! While we continue to maintain a laser-like focus on student achievement in our core academics, we would be remiss if we didn’t also highlight and cel- ebrate the many successes enjoyed by our Waukee High School students in our co-curricular and extra-curricular programs. It really was the “Year of the Warrior” in Waukee, as shown by the many outstanding accomplishments highlighted below. YEAR OF THE WARRIOR Football District Champs Advance to Quarterfinals of State Playoffs Boys’ Golf 4A Conference Champions & State Runner-Up Girls’ Cross Country Place 7 th at State Qualified for State 11 consecutive years Boys’ Cross Country Qualify for State Qualified for State and places 11th Girls’ Swim places 4th at State Meet & 1st at Regionals Boys’ Basketball Conferenece Cham- pions Finished with 18-4 record Wrestlers Qualify 6 Wrestlers to State Tournament Placed 7th in team standings - Four wrestlers medaled Boys’ Swim Team– CIC and District Champions Undefeated season - Wins State Championship – Back to Back Seasons.
