INSIDE THIS ISSUE

President’s MessageBy Michael Stowe, Advanced Energy

cannot believe it is already fall. This year continues to fly by. I hope all is going well for you all and your businesses.

Our most recent big event was our IHEA Fall Seminars and IHEA Fall Business Conference which took place on September 24-26, 2019, in Cleveland, OH. We had very good attendance and great speakers for our two excellent technical seminars; Safety Standards & Codes Seminar and the 50th Combustion Seminar. As part of our fall seminars, we also held a tabletop exhibition on Tuesday evening. This was a great event with lots of exchange of process heating information.

Immediately following our seminars, we held our IHEA Fall Business Conference that started on Wednesday evening at the Hofbräuhaus for a fun social gathering and to welcome members. Thursday was full of IHEA business with committee meetings and reports and two keynote speakers. Chad Spore, a staff engineer at John Deere Waterloo Works-Drivetrain Operations delivered a timely topic, “Advances in Technology,” followed by an inspiring talk from Lee Ann Schwope Cochran, a partner with Amphora Consulting on “Developing Stronger Organizations.” I sure hope you were able to attend and take advantage of this excellent information.

Also, this fall we will have another Fundamentals of Process Heating online course. The spring course was sold out and we hope to do the same for the fall course. Registration is open and we already have a group of students registered. Please get your team members signed up soon. Registration is open until October 4, 2019.

Our IHEA board continues with its specific plans for every board member to make contact and promote the benefits of IHEA to potential new members. This effort is ongoing. The best way to get new members is for existing members to spread the word. I want to encourage all of our IHEA members to continue to be IHEA ambassadors.

We are excited to welcome three new companies that recently joined IHEA, Mattsa Furnace Company SA de CV, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, Rockford Systems, Rockford, IL, and Accurate Steel Treating, South Gate, CA. Read more about our newest members later in this issue and when you get the opportunity, please welcome the folks from these three new member companies.

We continued to celebrate the 90th year of IHEA at our fall seminars/business conference event. From 1929 to 2019 IHEA has been serving the needs of the industrial heating business community and promoting industrial heating technologies to all.

It was great to see many of you in Cleveland. Take care and safe travels.
