Yesha Mehta | Rutgers Colony| Founder

My name is Yesha Mehta and I amSister Catalyst from RutgersColony. I became a sister of DeltaKappa Delta January 2011. I wasinspired to join DKD afterattending the first informational. It

was difficult for me to stayinvolved in school activities whilealso working full time. Seeing howunderstanding and supportive allthe sisters were really changed mymind and helped me make my

decision. Throughout theassociation process, I learned moreabout our philanthropy andenjoyed attending the service

events knowing we were making a small difference in the world.Being a part of the founding class, it was a unique experience startingour journey on the campus. I know it would have been impossible

without my line. Love you girls! (Hiral, Chandni, Chand, Shraddha,Aditi)

I was really able to work closely with the rest of the founders andreally shape how we expected Rutgers Colony to be. Im sure if youspeak to any of them, they will agree the first year was definitely the

year we learned the most about the organization, how we fit intoRutgers University, and about each other. We completed hours ofservice, were a part of the first SAGA (South Asian Greek Alliance),and spread awareness about our philanthropy throughout the NewBrunswick campus. DKD became an integral part of me.

I recently graduated Rutgers in May 2012 and am going to continueto participate in DKD as much as possible. I was just elected asNational Vice President of Operations and am looking forward to

working with the new NB to better and grow DKD as an organization.Throughout my time as an undergraduate, I was able to notice

various points Id like to bring to the attention of NB and am hopingto do that while my time on NB.

I am currently working at Johnson and Johnson Health CareSystems, just one of the many companies within J&J. I am an E-Commerce Analyst and work with customers to increase efficiencies

within the order-to-cash process and reduce costs. I am constantlylearning new things and love what I do. Everyone you meet is alwaysfriendly and willing to help making it a great work environment. Notmany people are as lucky as me finding their dream job the first timearound. Outside of work, I spend a lot of time with my family whoconsists of my mom, dad, brother and sister. I am definitely closest tomy sister who knows pretty much everything about me. I have aloving boyfriend of almost 5 years and a best friend whom I would belost without!

Whenever I meet new sisters or other actives, the main advice wouldbe to be active! Its easy to join an organization and just be a standardmember, but the people that get involved gain the most. They makeclose friends, help the colony / chapter grow, and make a differencein the world no matter how small. Thats what DKD is about. Thoseare the memories you will always keep with you as you move on to

bigger and better things outside of college. I know thats what Ialways did and I wouldnt have changed anything if given the chance.DKD is a large part of my life and always will be! - Yesha Metha,

    Sister Catalyst

    Testimonials:

Yesha has always been a dedicated and hardworking person. In the past twoyears, Yesha took on numerous responsibilities and excelled at all of them. Yeshawas an amazing President in the last year, a great sister, and someone who would

always be there if you needed advice. She will be missed at Rutgers. AditiParekh, Rutgers Colony

The first time I met Yesha was at bid day. She was a strong and determined girlwho had lots to offer. Through out the process she took charge and put our ideasinto action. Being her line sister has been the greatest, I know that I can alwayscount on her and talk to her whenever I need her. We can go on tangents and getside tracked but then get back to business. Being Co-RA was alsoan awesome experience and bring a great line into the sisterhood our "Bangin'Betas" of Rutgers Colony. Love you baby. - Hiral Kalia, Rutgers Colony

Yesha is one of the best role models a new sister can have to look up to. From dayone, I have admired Yesha's enthusiasm and passion for the sorority. She hasalways been extremely helpful whether it is something on the personal level oranything to do with DKD. - Priya Jha, Rutgers Colony

Yesha was the best sister in Rutgers Colony. I think we couldn't have asked for abetter president than her. She took care of us like we were her babies and alwaysgave us great advice. She is like a big sister i never had, the most fun to bearound and always had that charmed that she could sweep anyone away with it.She was there every step of the way and always helped us in every way she could.

I think i can say that I am gonna truly miss her soo much next year and not justme but i think everyone would agree with me on this. I love her soo much from

bottom of my heart. Priyanka Patel, Rutgers Colony

Yesha is such a dedicated and hard working person. She really knew how to leadthe sorority and made sure everyone was comfortable with each other at all times.I remember going to the first informational meeting and Yesha is the reason Icame back for the second meeting. She was so friendly and welcoming and I sawmyself wanting to be apart of a sorority making me feel comfortable. Yesha wasan amazing president and really showed a good example of what sisterhood isreally about. Melanie Thomas, Rutgers Colony
