Young Indians Chandigarh Tricity Chapter Report
Citation preview
The time has come to look back at the year gone by and reminisce over the interesting journey of Yi in Chandigarh and its engagement at the National and Global levels. The first visual that occurs to me is that of the highly engaged members rearing to do something that gives all of us a meaning.
Yi Chandigarh Tricity Chapter had made significant strides in the areas of environment, education, learning & youth affairs. I am very proud of our very own ViVidha where under privileged children have discovered a whole new world through books, interactive learning, workshops and sessions. The Chandigarh chapter has made significant efforts is strengthening the Nets and I am especially proud of the fact that Millennium Net won the Green I contest by beating various schools in the country. The Chandigarh chapter also organized two significant level events i.e. Global Entrepreneurship Week and National Volunteering Week involving cross section of the society. Overall the chapter has done well in some areas and in some we will do in future.
For me personally, this journey was extremely enriching and full of learning’s!
I got this opportunity of attending the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance (YEA), Moscow which is a global network of young entrepreneurs.
I’m extremely happy to hand over the baton to the extremely capable hands of Jaiprakash Singh Hasrajani, who I’m sure shall bring in fresh zest and rigour in Yi. I wish Jai and his executive council all the very best for the year to come. A special thanks to Abhishek and Harchitvan for helping with ideas and managing the whole show. I would also like to thank the members without whose sincere efforts nothing can be achieved.
Lastly, I would like to thank our various sponsors for our events i.e. Kapsons, Gray Cell Technologies, Alturust Technologies, IFM and Coca Cola.

Yi Chandigarh Annual Report 2013-14 1
Message from Co-Chairman
Yi Chandigarh Tricity ChapterAs we look back on last year’s developments, I must confess that this has certainly been a strong year for Yi Chandigarh Tricity Chapter and Yi National. We have found new energy and rigour this year with higher bonding and engagement across Yi members, Nets and Partners.
As Yi continues to grow and evolve itself, it is important that we look at ways to increase its reach and influence in our ecosystem with meaningful impact being Voice of Young Indians Globally and influencing their lives positively. As an organization we were born when India was changing at an unprecedented pace. We need to now work on making most of demographic dividend India has.
For me, Yi is not just an organization that one volunteers a few hours each month, to satisfy an inherent need of the conscious, for having done one's part for the betterment of the society. Yi, for me, is a way of living. Targeting development at the grass root level, it requires more than time, ideas! It is an organization where each member (depending on the willingness of course) is provided on a platter, the opportunity to exhibit his or her leadership qualities, to learn, to network, to execute, and in process impact positively on society, environment and economics of the country. I would like to congratulate Robin for his excellent leadership and engagement throughout the year, which brought members closer and do some wonderful work, that you would read in remainder of this annual report. I would also like to thank and congratulate all the EC & Yi members of Chandigarh for their contribution in making Yi such a great organization. Yi has a very important duty to engage its generation in the active and lead role in Nation Building. Let us together work towards increasing the relevance and impact of Yi and make it an organization that is valuable and meaningful to all its stake holders. Your involvement and encouragement will be my best support in coming year. Looking forward to an exciting journey of 2014-15.
WE CAN WE WILL!!

Message from Chairman
CII Chandigarh CouncilIt is undoubtedly accepted that the Youth is the future of the nation. The biggest reason that makes them more powerful than the rest of the society is their ability to take risk for a change. They have the enthusiasm and innovativeness to bring about change. The power of youth must
be harnessed properly to set the society on the path of change. It is heartening to note that Yi Chandigarh Tricity Chapter under the able & dynamic leadership of Mr Robin Aggarwal has been able to achieve many of the objectives set by Yi nationally and at the Chapter level. I appreciate the spirit of Yi members and the lead role Yi Chandigarh Tricity Chapter aims to assume in the Tricity. Heartiest congratulations to all Yi Chandigarh Tricity Chapter members for their foresight in establishing a robust agenda and commitment towards making these initiatives grand success. In the coming years, the Chapter must aim for strengthening membership in the tricity to have a greater impact of its initiatives, greater integration with CII, stronger membership connect & engage more with the stakeholders. Initiatives like Yi Vividha, a learning cum activity centre for the underprivileged kids of Kaimbwala village, should be enhanced for a wider reach. India can become a developed nation only if everyone contributes to the best of their capacity and ability. Youth is wholly experimental and with the full utilization of the talents of the youth, India will become a complete Nation. Let us hope for the same. I am sure that the future of India is as bright as the young Indians are. My compliments & best wishes for Yi’s future initiatives. Believe in your strengths and deliver on the expectation of making India & Chandigarh truly beautiful!
