A Yoga Retreat in India and Nepal a&e talks to Master Del Pe about his experiential and spiritual retreats With a strong understanding of both Western and Eastern cultures, and a background in the Gulf region’s corporate world, the Master operates through an internationally acclaimed learning center in the U.S. called BELife. Targeting the physical and mental challenges of daily life, faced by both adults and children, the master’s aim is to help people balance their family, career and financial life by employing innovative programs and energy strategies. The author of numerous self-help and guidance books, also offers leadership development and corporate training and retreats that train high level executives to master such things as good timing and conflict resolution. I sat down with Master Del Pe at The Archive From there, we flew to Bhairahawa and took a luxury coach drive to the Buddha’s birthplace – Lumbini. We visited temples that were built by Germany, Japan, China, Cambodia and Nepal as well as the twin stupas in Tilaurakot where the Buddha’s parents were buried. The next highlight was the site of the palace of the Buddha’s father. It is said that he left a life of privilege as a Prince by way of the east gate to begin his spiritual journey at age 29. Then we drove to India’s Uttar Pradesh and Bihar states, where the Buddha preached extensively. In Kushinagar, we saw the breathtaking Mahasamadhi stupa that houses a larger-than-life statute of the Buddha after his death, or Mahaparinirvana. We arrived in the bustling city of Varanasi at night and everyone paired up for a rickshaw ride passed brightly lit shops to the banks of the Ganges River. In the morning we returned for a boat ride to the sandy banks opposite the City for yoga. in Safa Park, while he was recently passing through Dubai, to meet the man behind the organized yoga retreats that a friend had been raving about. After long and insightful conversations on different aspects of modern life and the maintenance of a mental wellbeing in metropolitan cities and technology driven societies, I inquired about the Master’s motivations, his famous retreats and the purpose behind them. Master Del Pe, tell us about your life before choosing the path of promoting mental clarity and peace. I was raised in Asia and for 10 years worked as an engineer in the oil industry in the Middle East. While in Saudi Arabia, I also became the Chief Instructor at one of the largest Martial Arts organizations in the Middle East. I enjoyed my life as a Martial Arts champion and teacher of thousands of whatever is obsolete in their lives. This brings spiritual enlightenment as well as greater material success. Participants also learn how to reinforce the energy of a positive future. Who did the group include? Participants were CEOs, teachers, doctors, nurses, scientists, parents and students from around the world. What is the next destination that you are planning to visit and do you have any specific focus points? We are planning to retrace the Path of Jesus in Israel to study the roots of Christianity and deepen our understanding of the parallel growth of other religions. This Retreat will include Martial Arts-Yoga exercises and new ways to solve problems, including family issues. Why do people attend your Retreats and what is the outcome they are aiming to achieve? Many are successful executives who want more meaning in life. Others are burned out – they cannot sleep or have relationship problems. Some are in crisis and have gone to doctors, but have not found solutions because their crises are more of a Soul infused drama that causes them to seek new truths in their life. I also appreciated the friendships of the Saudi businessmen who consulted me for help growing their businesses. After a decade, I had enough savings to retire. At that time, I was bored even though I was successful in many fields and started to invoke for Divine intersession, ‘How can I stop this feeling of meaninglessness?’ I embarked upon a spiritual search and was lucky to find spiritual mentors in many countries. How did you become a “Master”? I acquired the title of Master at age 23 when I became a Chief Martial Arts Instructor and trained many black belts. Later as I mastered Healing, my spiritual teachers bestowed the name Master Del Pe. Today I travel extensively mentoring students in the Spiritual Sciences and teach Distant Learning Programs through BElife University, which I founded. What is the objective behind these endeavors? I created a program called BEadventures & Tours (BEAT). It is not about destinations – it is a journey of life. People from around the world come together and study world cultures, world philosophies and world religions. I find that to understand diversity it is helpful to understand the origins of cultures and philosophies. Please tell us about your recent Yoga Retreat in Nepal and India. Nearly 50 people joined our 10-day Yoga Retreat known as the Path of Buddha. We traced the life of Gautama Buddha, who was born in Nepal in the 5th century BCE. We flew from Delhi to Katmandu and the next morning, we joined the sunrise processional of Buddhists who circle the imposing Bodhnath stupa. Our next destination was Bodh Gaya, where it is said the Buddha attained enlightenment under a Bodhi tree. In the majestic mountains of Rajgir, we visited caves where the Buddha is believed to have stayed. Our journey ended with a return flight to Delhi by way of Patna. No matter what I am teaching, I want people to have their own first-hand experiences. By understanding the Buddha’s life, you can appreciate the different levels of teachings. What did you teach during this Retreat, and what is their purpose? I taught many exercises that bring empowerment to the physical body. We practiced Martial Arts- Yoga Science not only self-defense techniques but to boost vitality fast, to increase flexibility and to rejuvenate. We combined Martial Arts, Meditation, Yoga and Breathing techniques. We also practiced healing techniques.
