A Star is BornFelicity is a gorgeous little FIV+ lady who was biding her time as The Cat House on the Kings office cat while waiting for adop-tion. Felicity had the good fortune to be accepted at a Southern California rescue with an excellent adoption rate. Felicity’s lucky streak continued when the people from Rachel Ray’s Nutrish for Cats chose Felicity to be one of three cats featured in a unique experiment. Three cats would each live for one week with a person(s) who said they didn’t really like cats. Felicity went to live with a young couple that wanted a pet but had never owned a cat. By the end of the week, all participants were in love with their cats and all elected to adopt. One woman summed it up; “You don’t even know you are a cat person until you get a cat.” Felic-ity’s new family dotes on her and she retains her diva status! http://bit.ly/felicityadoption

Kittens-Not For EverybodyEverybody loves kittens. Kittens are very cute. Kittens are the

very pinnacles of adorable-ness. However, kittens are also high maintenance, high energy and require lots of supervision to stay safe and out of trouble. On the other hand, a teen or adult cat might better suit your family lifestyle. With an older cat you get more self-sufficiency plus you also have the added bonus of seeing the true personality of the cat. It is no secret that the older a kitten gets, the lower its chances

of adoption become. Older cats have a lot to offer and they just want a family to call their own.

We have an extensive selec-tion of teen and adult cats at both our Petco Adoption Center location in Fresno (Blackstone & Ashlan) and the main sanctuary in Parlier. There are numer-ous gorgeous felines posted on our website adoption page too! Give an older cat a chance for a loving home and consider adopting a teen or adult cat.

Food and Litter DonatedThe Cat House on the Kings extends a very big THANK YOU to Fresh Step litter and Greater-Good.org and Freekibble for their much-appreciated support and donations to cat rescues like ours!

Japanese TV Show FilmsThe Cat House on the Kings was pleased to host a film crew from Japan this summer. They traveled a great distance and braved the sweltering valley heat in order to film a televi-sion show about Lynea and how The Cat House came to be. They even brought an actress to portray “young Lynea.” Stay tuned for more updates! We will post a link when the show is completed.

In RecognitionCharles Schaefer has spent countless volunteer hours improving, repairing and upgrading the various rooms at The Cat House on the Kings. We wanted to thank him in a manner that would demonstrate how eternally grateful we are for his devotion to The Cat House and its many feline residents. That being said, The Cat House has erected a beautiful granite bench in honor of Charles’ selfless contributions. It has been placed in the new outdoor senior house addition. Visitors can sit on the bench and watch the senior cats enjoying their new specially built playground. Charles, we salute you!

All Nine Lives MatterFresno’s KMPH Channel 26 (Fox) Lifestyle Matters will feature The Cat House on the Kings during its October Pet Awareness month special. Our three segments will air on October 18th, 19th and 20th from 11:00 am – 11:15. Write a little note to remember to watch! Also keep an eye out for our own Beth Caf-frey on the Channel 26’s Great Day Morning show where once a month, a Cat House on the Kings kitty is featured on their “To the Rescue” segment.

Granny Nanny’s Cat Stud PantsWait. What?! Did you say “cat stud pants?” Yes, you read correctly. An absolutely visionary of a woman named Nancy Boyer, aka “Granny Nanny”, has developed a unique product that is something

long overdue for cat lovers. Stud pants for the spraying cat or a cat with incontinence issues. Granny Nanny, 88, was inadvertently discovered by a member of the Fresno State TNR Underground while searching for a solution to the Fresno States Res-

cue Cats’ proclivity to mark his territory inside the house. That led to the revelation that Granny Nanny donates the proceeds of Stud Pants to The Cat House on the Kings. Granny Nanny recently developed some health issues and was forced to temporarily discontinue making Stud Pants. Although she has never been able to visit The Cat House, she was able to view por-tions of the Spring Open House via live webcam. Lynea sent Granny Nanny a signed copy of Central Valley magazine with Lynea on the cover as well as a signed calendar. The Stud Pants website (updated June 26, 2016) indicates that Granny Nanny is taking orders on a very limited basis. Visit her web page for more detailed information. http://www.grannynannyhearts.org/StudPants.html

Thanks For The Crickets! We would like to thank everyone who donated crick-ets and mealworms to feed our plethora of peachicks. The peachicks were voracious eaters who are now big enough to fend for themselves. The orphaned peachicks pictured here were adopted by a local rancher. They will have a beautiful stepmother named Beyonce.
