Etta May Born and raised in Bald Knob, Arkansas, Etta May grew up alongside nine older brothers, who referred to their baby sister as “the human sacrifice.” In fact, Etta’s parents, her father a potpourri farmer – her mother bedridden by constant childbearing, did not realize Etta was a girl until she required a training bra.

At the age of 16, Etta met Delbert, an aspiring truck driver. On their first date, Delbert spared no expense and picked her up in a Limo… okay, an 18-wheeler, and drove her to the nearest Drive-In movie show. They were married that evening and it’s been full throttle towards domestic bliss ever since. Nine months later, she was blessed with a daughter, now a teenager whose vocabulary consists of one word “WHAT- EVER!!” Three boys quickly followed. She says, “I named my kids after my favorite TV show, ‘My Three Sons,’ Rob, Chip, Ernie, and Tramp.” “My kids are little monsters … lucky for me the doctor gave me Valium. What a wonderful drug! Then I realized the prescription was for me and not the kids!” Reflecting on her life Etta May is quoted, “Ya know if I had gone to the movie theater instead of the drive-in to see the movie, my life may have turned out a whole lot better.”

Etta May faithfully drove a school bus for over 10 years. “I was headed in that direction anyhow.” she says. She learned how to handle unruly kids by Armor All-ing the rubber seats, slammin’ on the brakes, and watching ‘em roll. One night, while volunteering as a bingo caller, she recalls, “the ball sucker got stuck.” Forced to entertain a room full of angry Catholics, Etta May kept them laughing all night and the laughs haven’t stopped!

Etta won the prestigious American Comedy Awards: Stand-Up Comic of the Year, has appeared live on Oprah, Arsenio Hall, Comic Strip Live, MTV, and regularly on TNN, just to name a few. Her hilarious performance on “The Comedy Store’s 15th Anniversary Special,” broadcast in prime time on NBC, nearly upstaged seasoned pros such as Robin Williams and Richard Pryor.

Audiences may already be familiar with Etta from her weekly radio show, “Ask Etta,” an advice show carried by over 200 country radio stations in the U.S. and Canada. Etta’s fan club has over 40,000 members, “Etta Heads” as she calls them. Etta May has partnered with Time Warner Productions, to distribute her video, “The Evolution of Etta” nationwide.

This colorful comedienne, known for her trademark floral blouse, polyester pants, horn-rimmed glasses, and print bandana, gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “Baby Got Back.” Etta says she realized she had a weight problem when she sat in the bathtub and the water in the toilet rose!

To put it simply, when Etta May takes the stage she is the reigning Queen of Southern Sass and your Woman for the 21st Century!

Karen MillsKaren Mills is a breath of fresh air. Her humor is smart, funny, and original. She’s been compared to such greats as Bill Cosby, Ellen Degeneres, and Jerry Seinfeld. Her comedy is clean, clever and relatable – she finds the funny in everyday life. A native of Tennessee, this southern girl makes one thing clear, “I am NOT a southern belle…unless I need to be.”

Karen spent 15 years on the comedy circuit honing her skills. She’s worked with Jon Stewart, written for The Rosie O’ Donnell Show and toured with the Southern Fried Chicks. Now she’s quickly becoming a favorite in the corporate world. Her client list includes American Express, AFLAC, Coca Cola, Toyota and many more. One thing her clients all agree on is that Karen Mills is “one funny girl.” She has also performed at numerous women’s conventions where she’s always a huge hit! But don’t think that’s all she can do, her comedy is friendly and relatable to both genders – in other words, the men love her too. This natural performer has a keen sense of timing and wide range of topics giving her a broad audience appeal.

Karen understands what it takes to excel. She stands at 5’2” and was an All-American basketball player for

UT-Chattanooga. In 1981, she led the nation in assists and was the first female inducted into UTC’s basketball hall of fame. She’s got game! Karen brings that same dynamic energy to her comedy. Whether you are having a convention, an awards banquet, a weekend retreat, or any other corporate or private function, Karen will bring your crowd together through the joy of laughter.

Sonya WhiteSonya White is based in Chicago, IL. Originally from Virginia, she has combined southern charm with big city street smarts to create a show that won her a nomination as Campus Activities Magazine’s Best Female Performer and multiple appearances on CBS’ “Star Search.” She has also been featured on “Comcast Comedy Spotlight: Road Trip 2002” and at “The U.S. Comedy Arts Festival 1999,” which was aired on HBO, E, and Comedy Central.

White’s observational comedy is enhanced by dead-on impersonations

and appropriate sound effects. Both her comedy stage show and her one-woman show, “Airing Dirty Laundry,” are based on real-life experiences and her fond -- but irreverent -- interactions with friends, family and the world at large. White’s television credits include roles on the Fox Network’s “Nightshift,” The Family Channel’s “Big Brother Jake” and MTV’s national promotion for “Spring Break ‘98.” She has played a colorful character on national promos for “The Jerry Springer Show,” and done cartoon impressions for The Cartoon Network’s “Pick Your Shorts.” Sonya is a member of both the Screen Actor’s Guild and The American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

And you don’t have to stay in the United States to see Sonya White in the media. She’s a featured comedienne for Verizon Wireless on their “Fun and Games” mobile accessories option. If you’ve got a Verizon phone you can see Sonya any time you like -- in 60 different countries. http://www.sonyawhitecomedy.com/

BEARFOOT B IOGR APHIES

Call it “new-timey,” call it “post-bluegrass,” call it “string band music for the 21st century”—whatever the name, there’s a revolution under way where string band traditions meet youthful creativity; look to its center, and that’s where you’ll find Bearfoot. The quintet, originally formed in Alaska, have already made a mark with four strong releases, including their 2009 Compass Records debut, Doors And Windows which instantly hit the top of Billboard Magazine’s Bluegrass Album chart. Now, as they enter their second decade with a new Nashville home and a new lineup, Bearfoot have taken their place among the best and brightest of a new generation of musicians reshaping American roots music.

A mere two years after their initial meeting teaching at their namesake’s bluegrass camp for kids, Bearfoot earned one of roots music’s most prestigious awards –Telluride Bluegrass Band Champions– an honor they share with artists Dixie Chicks and Nickel Creek. Soon, they were touring extensively during summer breaks and became regular crowd favorites at prestigious festivals including Wintergrass, Grey Fox, Strawberry Festival, and seven consecutive years at RockyGrass. The original band members (Norris and Oudean) had known each other and played together in various combinations in Alaska’s small but vibrant music scene and the community of musicians, fans, parents, and friends rallied around the fledgling band. “We wrangled some support from them in the form of mileage and airline tickets,” says Norris. “People wanted to see us succeed and travel. Very few bands in Alaska, particularly young bands, get the opportunity to do that so the community was excited about it and jumped onboard with us. Those same people still go to our shows now.” The original band name was “Bearfoot Bluegrass” but as the band evolved, they dropped “bluegrass” from the

name. Bearfoot has adopted the Americana moniker to describe their music but haven’t left their bluegrass roots behind. “Even if it’s not a bluegrass song, it’s not too hard to see where it all came from,” Norris points out. “You can definitely tell that we play bluegrass by how we structure our phrasing, our instruments, and how our harmonies are set up.” With ten years, major festivals, and four albums under their belt, Bearfoot has managed to make quite a name for themselves whilst growing and changing continuously as a band. With previous lead singer Odessa Jorgensen moving on to pursue her own solo indie folk music career, Bearfoot has welcomed singer/songwriter Nora Jane Struthers as their newest addition. Her recent self titled solo album sparked the interest of Bearfoot members Oudean and Norris, as well as the press. Bluegrass Unlimited says, “You’ll probably hear the name Nora Jane Struthers in conjunction with bluegrass awards for top female vocalist…and she writes with a clear-eyed traditional sensibility typically seen only in writers like Gillian Welch and Tim O’Brien, her songs sound immediately like pre-modern classics.” Oudean and Norris had recently been spending a lot of time playing music with Nora Jane in Nashville, and thought it only natural to join forces with such a good friend. “We’re really looking forward to having some fresh new music to add to the Bearfoot repertoire. And I just love the way our voices sound together,” says Oudean.

Collaborative, uplifting, energetic, haunting, beautiful, and inspired: all words that anyone should feel comfortable with while describing Bearfoot’s sound. Bearfoot finds themselves atop a cultural mountain where they overlook the past, present, and future of bluegrass music.
